Anyone with severe bipolar. Anyone with Schizophrenia. Anyone with any history of bad mental illness. WE can throw in gender dysphoria I am cool with that.
Then also anyone with a felony. Anyone with any kind of gun charge. Anyone with any form of violent history.
Gun ownership should be DIFFICULT. It should be only for law abiding SANE citizens.

I agree with you. I would love to take stricter and more precautionary measures to keep guns out of the hands of crazy people. I don't think Kirk would have disagreed. The question is how do you do it without impeding on the civil liberties of everyday people.
And more importantly, even if some deranged lunatic does kill someone with a gun, ultimately it's not the gun at fault. If that person didn't have a gun, they could have killed someone with a car. Almost anything can be used as a violent weapon in the hands of someone looking to cause harm. So what, do we apply those same standards to drivers licenses too?
