Can live with Pleiss as 5th big for now. Don't think they necessarily need a 6th one. Sorry Bolomboy fans.

He will?
While I do lament the loss of one of our two Canadians, Diaw is more ready to help this team than the, at best, 5th string point guard.
Might be higher up at the 2 where he started last night.
Right now the bigman rotation exists in some sort of stasis right now as we don't know if Boris Diaw will be the 3rd big or the fourth behind Trey Lyles.
Diaw I would think. Similar players really. Diaw is better at this stage though. What Lyles loses in minutes he'll gain by getting mentored by Diaw.
Behind that foursome the team has Tibor Pleiss under contract, but the tall German isn't really ready to be a 5th big in my mind.
I think he showed he can play a bit if called upon. I'm alright with it for now. If there's injuries and he has to play a lot I might change my mind. Withey needs to go!
And last, and least, we have the raw, athletic rookie Joel Bolomboy -- who is likely to play with the Salt Lake City Stars if at all.
We'll see how he progresses over summer league.
He has a non-guaranteed deal for next season, 2017-18, for $7.500 million.
I predict they have to pick that up at that price but it's nice to have flexibility.
As of right now the Jazz still are $10.469 million UNDER the cap. The minimum (90% of the cap) means the team still needs to add a little more salary, but are sitting really close to that at 89%. A Bolomboy signing or confirming the non-guaranteed's for some may put them over that threshold. Not a bad off-season, Dennis Lindsey.
Favors contract. I think there may be more movement. The rotation is getting crowded though I could see Neto going to the bench to start the year at least.
Paige looked better. He's going to have to put on some weight I'd think though to play in the league.
I like Wallace. Bolomboy sucked. Ford is better than last year's D-league hopeful O'Brien.
Right now I see it as Rudy/Favors/Hayward/Hill/Mack with Burks/Hood/Johnson/Diaw/Lyles off the bench. Neto/Exum/Ingles/Johnson/Pleiss bench. Trade Withey. Ford to the D-league. Exum possibly D-league until he's ready to beat someone out for minutes. Neto is too good for the D-league I think. He was a solid starter last year. Could change in camp. 3 spots for camp open. Probably be looking for more guys on partial guarantees for the D-league team. Probably need a couple more bigs for camp anyway. Bolomboy doesn't look like one of them yet. Should be the most competitive camp in a long time.
Most good teams have a player on their bench who will do the “dirty work,” but as of now, Favors and Gobert will likely be the ones to carry that mantle.
Chris Johnson and Neto.
With the Nets, Booker should move into a primary backup role at power forward.
Looks like he's starting at the moment.
With Favors, Gobert, Lyles and Diaw sure to receive most of the frontcourt minutes and Withey and Bolomboy in the mix, the last question about Utah’s bigs concerns second-year center Tibor Pleiss.
Bolomboy is in the mix and Pleiss isn't? :facepalm
He’s on the books for $3 million in the 2016-2017 campaign, but Utah could decide to move on and waive him if they’re unable to find a trade partner, which seems unlikely given his lack of value.
Lindsey said there was interest in all their players at the trade deadline. They moved their other guy that hasn't really proven himself in Burke.
A young squad that lacked depth, veteran leadership, experience and flexibility to play big and small and somewhere in between acquired three players who are all capable of helping them accomplish just that.
Not sure they lacked any of that they just got more of it. The one thing I see that they got was 3 good players who can all shoot the ball. They will smash all Jazz 3 point records I'm sure.
Lyles still has ways to go in his passing and defense. However, his post-up game is moving in the right direction.
They need more post ups. Gobert was talking abut his hook last night, Joe Johnson can post up.
Paige has a realistic chance of making it work in the NBA.
Looks like he needs to put on some weight first.
What stands out for Wallace is his composure and strength. Wallace is really strong for a point guard.
He's active. He's the one I'd see on the roster if anyone right now but he's not quite there yet.

He hasn't looked good enough for camp. Stash.
Furthermore, they could have a sleeper in Weber State’s Joel Bolomboy.
May have nothing
Guaranteeing the contracts of Jeff Withey and Shelvin Mack are formalities.
Withey wouldn't be guaranteed until January and with 16 on the roster and him not being a coach favorite he has to go.
In the past two years, Utah point guards have combined for a PER of 11.9, three points below league average. Hill? 17.3.
and Mack?
If everyone stays healthy, these moves should put the Jazz in a position to make a run at the No. 4 seed and home-court advantage in the first round of the 2017 playoffs.
The goal should be 3rd seed and no more excuses. They are deeper.. They are older
the Jazz now have a bona fide starter — maybe two, with Exum
and Mack and Neto might be even better.
And now the man, who will most likely be first off the bench for Utah, is too.
considering his age and Burks being a top 6th man and in my mind Hood joining them it could be someone different every night.
Johnson provides depth, basically replacing Chris Johnson with a seven-time all-star
Chris could still be on the team
The Jazz, of course, could elect to resign Johnson two summers from now if they want
Might have an option for the 2nd year. Could be front loaded. You should have waited a day and got the details.
