You really want to get me? let's see all these tariffs send us into a recession free bull market.
When that happens, I'll say "you were right and I was wrong"

Oh damn, just noticing another reversal today, unfortunately the other way.
Perhaps all the "winning" reported earlier today was also fake news.
Obviously Trump never said anything about it . I thought that was already understood here. The rumors were that Trump SAID he was contemplating a 90-day time out because Hassett made it sound that way and it went viral.
I said that "Trump said" because if that is rumor was true? That is literally the only way it could be true, coming out of Trump's mouth.
You're trying really hard to find some sort angle to score a tribal point, but there isn't one I'm sorry.
When you say that Trump has come out and said something, you make it sound like he's actually said it. It's annoying as hell to peddle fake news like that, for a moment there I thought it was true and was looking for video of a press conference or interview. Had you just posted a link in your initial post to where you read it, I would've instantly realized that it was actually someone other than Trump who had said something, and that it was still totally unconfirmed speculation based on bad interpretation of an answer in an interview.

This just shows you don't get it. I don't care about a bull market, I care about more American quality jobs, especially in the midwest.

Everyone thought it was true. And obviously everyone thought this was something Trump actually said at some point. But it wasn't. It was fake.
FWIW brand of fake news was a simple misunderstanding, and not something MSM was trying to do to make Trump look bad. I mean, I think most people wish the news was real. The market certainly did. But it's not real, there is no 90-day pause. I'm sorry that rumor went nuts but I will not take ownership of what happened.

Yeah, you're in the wrong thread then. This thread is about the stock market. Hence me relaying the reasonings behind yesterday's swing.

I guarantee you that most people didn't believe that piece of news. They don't trust CNBC like you do, and for good reason too considering on such an important topic that instead of them watching the interview with Hessell on Fox and interpreting his answers themselves, they ended up taking a horrible interpretation from a random Twitter account. The tweets didn't even pretend to have more information than what was said in that interview which was publicly available at the time CNBC created this story.

And my comment responding to you relates to the stock market. If this is nothing but a cheering thread for a stock market bull run, it's on the wrong board.
Absolutely most people believed it. The market swung 4% on it which is massive.
Granted, it's been massive swings almost every day lately, including today. But that piece of news caused a $billions in swing. Maybe even a $Trillion.

Hedgefunds trying to beat the market on a rumor isn't "most people".
There is a rebound because countries are already folding and coming out and saying they will work with Trump on these tariffs.
We win again!
What rebound? Who is folding? What win? Maybe you should not count your chicken before they hatch.

You are handicapped.

The only country that matters is China and it doesn't look like they'll be folding.
Walmart is the biggest employer in the U.S. and almost everything they sell is from China.
A 104% tariff on China is a 104% tax on Americans unless you think every single product from China will magically be replaced with American products over night. Even if that did happen, you think American made products will be remotely close to China made products? Inflation about to skyrocket.
Funniest headline I've ever read on CNN:
Trump says countries are ‘kissing my a**’ as they look to make tariff deals
I can't help but laugh at that one.
Yup hold the line. Negotiate when the best offer is available.
No one believes these tariffs are permanent. For those even thinking that are dumb. This is to help US position in trade to help US manufacturers compete with the world that does not have the barriers the US workforce has to face.
Does the negotiating part also mean that the US has to be assholes towards the rest of the world, ruining good relationships with a lot of countries?
