It feels like a petty attempt to downplay the event. Or setting up an attempt at some sort of “gotcha!” moment as Trump has said he got hit by a bullet already.

Trump is running a near perfect campaign despite bogus felony charges.

This is exactly the route he needs to go. Let Biden and the the democrats self implode while focusing on the bigger picture of unity for the country. He's also been completely open about project 2025 having nothing to do with him and denouncing it as radical stuff he doesn't believe in.
