anyone who thinks Eli manning should’ve gone first ballot doesn’t watch football with both eyes open. His only claim to fame is SB. He never was the best QB. He never made all pro teams where usually the best players at that position get selected. His stats are nothing spectacular. .500 record as a QB. TD-INT ratio isn’t great. Barely hit 60% completion for a career. Go create a hall of very good players. He’s first ballot there.
I mean neither were a lot of dudes who are HOFers. Hard to make All-Pro when Brady and his brother are in the league. Two of the best to ever do it.
But yea I ultimately agree. He was a Jalen Hurts level guy for a while with an awesome defense. Probably better than Hurts but he made huge plays when it truly mattered.

Eli was looked at as a bust his first few years in the league, he was ass. Improved big time as the years went on, pro bowl level during his prime, but he will probably make the hall of fame cause of his super bowls. From the '04 class, Big Ben & Phillip Rivers were better QBs
Clown take. Russ has been trash everywhere hes gone since. Where as Flacco has balled or been at least above average most of the time. Seattles defense and Marshawn Lynch were even better than anything Flacco was working with. You forgot that last part though.
It takes a lot of work to be a good QB. Guys who excel are guys that really want to be great. I don't think he ever cared enough to put in that level of effort.
It's like he played QB because he was supposed to.

Our big draft decision was Daniels vs Maye. I don't follow college football at all so I didn't have an opinion. Looks like we were going to get our franchise QB either way.

Yeah people crapped on Eli from day one but here's his 12 season record.
Year 2 - 11-5
Year 3 - 8-8
Year 4 - 10-6 (won the Superbowl)
Year 5 - 12-4
Year 6 - 8-8
Year 7- 10-6
Year 8 - 9-7 (won the Superbowl)
Year 9 - 9-7
Year 10 - 7-9
Year 11 - 6-10
Year 12 - 6-10
Year 13 - 11-5
Not the greatest record in the world...but you know who he did in against. Do you know who were the coaches in the NFC East at the time...Bill Parcells, Joe Gibbs, and Andy Reid. 3 of the top ten coaches of all-time 2 of the top five. He came into the league and did that as a Rookie.
He also won 2 Super Bowls...so did Jim Plunkett...lets look at the QB's he beat.
Jeff Garcia
Tony Romo
Brett Favre
Tom Brady
Matt Ryan
Aaron Rodgers
Alex Smith
Tom Brady
He beat 4 MVP's, 3 multi-time MVP's
And oh yeah only 1 of his teammates is in the Hall of Fame...who retired in his third season.
Eli Manning not being in the Hall of Fame is a robbery. Phillip Rivers wasn't even the best QB in San Diego, the team had Drew Brees, and those Chargers teams were stacked. Ben Roethlisberger played on much better teams and had the Bengals and Browns to beat up on every season.

The 5 QBs drafted in the first round in 2021 look terrible. Fields got benched today.
Mac Jones might have a resurgence though.

Dart is a dog. No quit in him.
Sean Payton is a damn moron, pretty much cost his team a touchdown by running onto the field.

It's clear he's gonna be a great pro, but that pick he threw when the game was otherwise gonna be over was a brutal rookie mistake. Total lack of time and score awareness.

Drake Maye might already be a borderline elite quarterback. You obviously have to see more, particularly in the playoffs, the have that status but he makes every throw and is always making the right decision too.
They are not a talented team at all and they’re 5-2 solely on his back. And an easy schedule so far.

That 2024 QB class low key looking stacked.
Caleb (Has shown some improvements this year, but still hasn't lived up to the hype)
Daniels
Maye
Nix
McCarthy hasn't really played yet and Penix doesn't look too bad either.
Just hope Daniels doesn't end up like RG3, already a couple of injuries to him this year.

Not to give him 100% of the credit but the Diggs factor has to be mentioned. And it’s not taking anything away from Drake but when Diggs went to Buffalo Josh Allen excelled. And now he goes to NE Drake is excelling. Diggs was quoted saying he is not shocked at Drake Maye performance. He works hard, he’s a leader etc etc
