I think Trump already signaled that it's a no-go so they're falling in line. I also think the democrats knew full well that nothing was going to come of it so they wisely put this out there to make it look like they care.
But we know they don't care. If they cared they would have done this years ago. As usual it's nothing but theater. All sides are guilty and are just trying to come out ahead in the optics war at this point.

I think what has happened is that they know full well that Bill Clinton is all over the files. And previously they were not willing to sacrifice him.
But now? Now that Hillary and Kamala lost and there is no longer reason to protect Bill? Now that it is very obvious Trump is also all over the files? NOW they demand the release.
