Re: 2 NBA Players Already Cut In Europe
Yes, or in the way it is called in the NBA - he was cut.
In the NBA it is called being cut because you did not have a guaranteed contract and when it came up to be money owed on a guaranteed amount you are cut.
Cut.....or sometimes they use the term waived.
But, when the team says it was because you were not wortth the money you were being paid and they drop your contract so they can get as good a player cheaper.......
yeah, that is universally considered being cut in the NBA.
No, what I was saying was that DeJuan Blair's contract expired. Being cut is what you described... a team takes you off of the roster and pays you the rest of your contract because they don't believe you are helpful for the team. An expired contract means that it ended. His contract was only for about two weeks.

His contract was for the whole year. With team option renewal options at each month. And a guaranteed amount of money due after set times.
It's just like when a player signs a non-guaranteed training camp contract that runs through the whole NBA season, but only has X amount of money owed if the contract is "cut" by a certain date.........
That's the kind of contract he had.
He was not cut for poor play, just that the team felt he was not worth the amount he was making. The same thing as most NBA cuts.
Brown was cut apparently just for poor play.

Oh, okay. I didn't understand how it worked, since I just saw the following quote:
As per the official website of Samara, the contract with Blair expired at the end of VTB League and FIBA Eurochallenge Qualification Rounds and the two parts decided not to renew it.
and assumed that that meant his contract simply ended and they decided not to sign him to a new contract.

Cool story bro.
Both teams would build their whole team around Jason Terry.
Who are those quotes attributed to?
Still unanswered....
Re: 2 NBA Players Already Cut In Europe
The rules are very different. The Euro league is WAY more physical than the NBA. Check out Kaman's recent quotes saying he thought he was in a wrestling match instead of a basketball game.
The game is not wide open for the PG's in Euro as it is in the NBA. Shooting ability is much more important in the Euroleague. Short 3 pointers, a much more team oriented style of play. The NBA is easy on travels while they don't let you cheat in Euro with your footwork.
I understand it's natural to compare the play in both leagues especially when players play in both but the game is very different. It's silly to get heated and argue over it because the rules are just so different.
Re: 2 NBA Players Already Cut In Europe
I am just laughing at all those "experts" that put some stats, to prove their right. Watch the ****ing game and then you can judge.
