I have seen that where I live here in cali. Scared the crap outta me. Lightning without any sound is really weird.

my Dad has been there, he was an assistant director for a filipino movie that they were filming there
its pretty interesting how it was carved out by people
also whats funny is the ifugao tribe there charges you money to take pictures with them
im from the Philippines but ive never been to the rice terraces

Wow I have actually been to many of these. Tha burning crater, Japanese hell baths and blue grotto are the ones I'd want to visit the most.
It's hard to get a feeling for a place in just photos but Goreme National Park in Turkey is definately the most spectacular of all these places
I'm not sure Goreme is the painted valley in Turkey, but if so the painted valley in Turkey is the best. I know I have been to both Goreme and the painted valley but I can't remember if they are the same place. Does anyone know the Turkish name for the painted valley?
