That and because Jordan gets much more lift on his shots. Kobe almost takes set-shots. He doesn't get a lot of lift on his jumpers.

Thought both are similar, MJ's jumpshot looks aesthetically better. Besides, Kobe has a tendency to flail his arms during the follow through.
