I saw one of the 9/11 videos which showed the victims actually falling and hitting the ground. I wish I never did. Disturbed me for quite awhile.
I also saw a video of a terrorist group cutting a guys head off with a machete. The worst thing about that was the sound. The guy goes from screaming to gurgling to sounding like a squealing pig. Probably the worst thing I've ever seen/heard.

:lol
if this really happen at least shes still alive, so count your blessings.
Yep really happened..
Oh and you're right, we do count our blessings... Something like that really makes you appreciate things, all the BS is suddenly just noise in the background...
When we were about 15, me and a bunch of my friends went into town late at night (like 2 AM or so) and a car pulled up infront of us and a bunch of guys tried to rob us with fake guns. That shit haunted me for ages :oldlol:
Also, Salo is definitely the most traumatic film I've ever seen. Films like The Human Centipede do nothing to me, but Salo is the ultimate dismissal of our civilisation.
Saw a guy get cut up with a machete. 2 women get into a knife fight. Was caught in the middle of a stand off with a guy pointing an AK-47 in my direction while I was pinned down in a small store. Been up close and even taken part in slaughtering farm animals (chickens, cows, sheep, goat) too many times to count.
But the most ****ed up thing was seeing a guy get into an argument with his pregnant girlfriend, throw her to the ground and then proceed to kick her violently in the stomach. All that other shit didn't really faze much, but that one always bothered me.
Biggest waste of time ever. I got nothing but boredom out of it. :coleman:
Is that because you went into it expecting (or hoping) for a simple shock value flick?
I saw Cannibal Holocaust when I was like 10 with a few of my friends. I couldn't sleep well for a week
It was advertised like Martyrs. At least that one was good. :confusedshrug:
It wasn't made like Martyrs.
Salo is a film made by a man who, at that time, had given up on civilization. The film is challenging to watch because it tells so many truths, unlike these other "extreme" films.
Actually one video that made me sort of cringe was these Russian soldiers getting beheaded. They were young as well
When I lived in China I came across some f'ed up people..
many times I saw people get jumped and beaten ( from Chinese Mafia )
The worst though is watching Men who burned young girls Genitalia...they would literally take a lighter and burn the labia and rectum so it would be severely scarred for life.
( I am not Chinese , I was told If I try to help the victims I would be hunted and Killed)
I wish I could have done something....not have bitched out.
very rarely I remember....as I'm ignorant.....this thread made me think about it.
I just saw it as a shock film that failed to shock. What's so deep about eating shit?
C'mon man. The film has a lot to say about European fascism, the dream of sexual liberation, how capitalism/fascism are not too far apart from each other, the sadistic power of those "above."
Have you seen any other films by Pasolini (the director)? We're not talking about Human Centipedes or I Spit on Your Graves here; we're talking about a serious artist who made some of the most beautiful and apparently atrocious films in cinema history. This is the same guy who made The Gospel According to St. Matthew.
Here's a good essay about Salo and the director
Thanks for the read and picture. lol
No problem
I've always found it funny that the best film about Jesus' life was made by a gay Marxist :oldlol:
