Re: B.1.1.529?
ugh.
again, they're not saying for certain that the vaccines do indeed work or don't work again omicron. or am i missing something?
the vaccines (according to 'them') were indeed 'effective' against delta.
If they were effective against delta countries with 80-90+% vaccination rates wouldn't be experiencing record case rates.
Look guy.... If you can't see the new variant booster shot merry go round game thats being played on you... its honestly baffling how gullible you (and others to be fair) are.
I just hope the house of cards and lies falls before enough people are stupid enough to keep believing it all. A lot are waking up though.

The vaccine doesn't stop cases it only stops deaths. See Gibraltar. Diamenz isn't a tin foil clown like you so he already knows this. Your low IQ theories change weekly. The powers that be don't gain anything from us not working and slaving away like ants for a higher GDP. Citizens working and creating wealth is the only thing that gives governments power. Unfortunately you're incapable of thinking past "it's a trick to get sheeplez!".

yes, tpols - we already know where you stand on the 'sheep' front. we already know what you're going to say before you say it.
addressing your point... cases are irrelevant - this virus is endemic. vaccines DO NOT prevent spread.

Terms to know
Outbreak - Refers to the number of cases (disease) that exceeds what would be expected
Endemic - An infection within a geographic location that is existing perpetually
Pandemic - A global epidemic
So now were not in a pandemic? Its just an endemic? This virus isn't spread all over the world and is only contained to a specific demographic region?
Cases are irrelevant? What happened to the "stop the spread" mantra?

That will never enter tpols' head. He is too far down the rabbit hole to understand that, even if you tell him that a hundred times. He only hears, sees, and reads what he wants to hear, see and read.
so, do you wanna explain why a vaccine would be effective against a NEW strain of the virus?
CDC now says all adults should get COVID booster shots amid Omicron fears
The CDC upped its urgency over coronavirus vaccine boosters Monday, saying every US adult should now get the extra shot because of the Omicron variant.
The federal agency previously said that while every adult was eligible for a booster, only those age 50 and older and those 18 and above in long-term care should really make a point of getting it.
But given heightened concerns over Omicron, the CDC now says that everyone over 18 “should” get the boosters.
“Today, CDC is strengthening its recommendation on booster doses for individuals who are 18 years and older,” CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said in a statement.
“The recent emergence of the Omicron variant further emphasizes the importance of vaccination, boosters, and prevention efforts needed to protect against COVID-19,” she said.
The agency said adults should seek booster shots six months after their second dose of the Moderna and Pfizer jabs or two months after the Johnson & Johnson shot.
Flu vaccines are never 100% effective. It fluctuates from season to season.
As for covid vaccines, pretty much all articles I have read say they lessen the probability of spread as well. Perhaps not very well, but they do. And yes, they absolutely lessen the chance of getting severe symptoms, which by itself makes it effective. The question remaining is not 'if it's effective' but rather 'how long does it remain'. And maybe there could be an even more effective vaccine in the future that significantly lessens spread altogether rather than primarily severe symptoms.

The less harmful omicron variant (as Chair of S. African Med Soc, Dr. Coetzee states, “we don’t see severely ill patients...the hype that’s been created in the media and worldwide doesn’t correlate with the clinical picture” https://twitter.com/andrewbostom/status/1465344629373640708?s=20) just so happens to cause the main harmful side effect of the vaccines. :lol :lol

what in the flying f*** are you talking about tpols? the virus is endemic - it's here to stay. in other words, it's NOT going away.
yes, cases are irrelevant because like i said... endemic. everyone's going to catch covid eventually if they haven't already.
what "stop the spread" mantra? when did i ever say or push that? stop generalizing everyone as sheep and playing with definitions in an attempt to just shit on people.
if you want to address my original statement with something other than arguing how vaccines aren't stopping spread (because they don't), then i'd love to hear it.

alright, then i'll quote that article.
Walensky noted that early data from South Africa suggests that the new strain is highly transmissible and that scientists are still gauging the effectiveness of existing vaccines in combating the new variant.
The cdc are going to push the vaccines, period. in this case, they're doing it as a precautionary.
bro, i get it - i don't like it either. pharmaceutical companies are milking this for all it's worth and the government along with the media are enabling them, but back to the original point... the vaccines don't prevent spread & infection, so the fact that the vaccinated are catching omicron doesn't mean shit. it does not mean the vaccines aren't doing their job in preventing and/or lowering the probability of serious illness and death. the effectiveness of that is of course up for debate.
