Re: Clearly the NBA doesn’t want us to win.
You said it's WWE which implies literally rigged outcomes.
Celtics didn't even get favorable calls in game 7, 6ers did... they didn't guide anything.
You're just wrong about everything lol. You have a low IQ.
You're being slow again.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink it. A team can be given a massive ref and FTA advantage and still lose if they don't convert.
Either way, the league profits greatly from certain matchups over others. A Nuggets Heat Finals would draw way less ratings than Lakers Celtics. If you're even remotely financially literate you'd know that.
And that's what they're going to push for.

Celtics and Lakers are the better teams though you dipshit.
Teams with the best talent win games, not whats financially ideal. The league makes plenty of money regardless.
So it's not WWE... it's refs trying to guide teams for maximal profitability.. which of course this can't be proven or disproven like most conspiracy theories.
You're just an idiot. These refs are trying to do a job. They are not being told to rig games. The league has WAY MORE to lose by a ref coming out and saying it's rigged than just letting it naturally unfold. You don't understand anything.

Nice reading comprehension
Re: Clearly the NBA doesn’t want us to win.
The most politicized award in the league, the MVP, was just given to Embiid... and I'm supposed to think the NBA is out to get him?
Re: Clearly the NBA doesn’t want us to win.
NBA has legitimized gifting free throws to bigger profile players as 'superstar whistle' and made it one of its attributes of the league. Most fans acknowledge it and they are fine with it. It is the result of the capitalistic structure of the USA. In the end, it is an entertainment. So inequity between players is definitely a thing. Teams with superstars(players that would sell more jerseys and atract more viewers) will always have the upper hand due to that.

The NBA profits from star players above anything else. Who gave a shit about the Antoine Walker/Paul Pierce Celtics in the playoffs?

Op has been missing since at least 15 hours ago. Did he go to cancun already?
Re: Clearly the NBA doesn’t want us to win.
I read the Lakers paragraph and rolled my eyes. The Lakers haven't been getting favored the way Warriors fans made it out to be. People are throwing out numbers but aren't using common sense. I'm not sure a lot of fans even know what they are watching. Thinking everything is rigged for LeBron is hater mentality.
This is your problem. You're letting your fandom for LeBron cloud the way you view the subject. Were it the other way around, with GS getting lopsided amounts of calls, then you'd absolutely agree with the rest of the post. The Lakers literally doubled the Warriors in FTA. (160-80) and are one of teams with the fewest drives per game during the regular season and postseason, but they somehow stacked up such an immense FTH differential?
https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/drives?SeasonType=Regular%20Season&dir=D&sort=DRIVES
For the record, they're ranked 23rd in drives per game during the regular season, and 13th during the postseason (out of 16 teams). That means they're one of the lowest in that area.
I've been talking about this all over ISH when discussing Shaq. This issue is about money. LeBron just happens to fit into it. If he wasn't in the league, then it would probably be someone else. The NBA saw a decline in revenue due to Covid in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, they set a record at $10 billion, but I believe they also had record expenses. I'm not sure what the net income was, so maybe someone can look that up.
Either way, the league has been acting suspect since the MJ days (1990-91 onward) and it's not something new. Quite frankly, it doesn't surprise me given the demise of Larry, Magic, and Isiah. The league needed to make money and had their poster child for it. Go back and watch game 6 of the '92 finals and it was clearly a one sided affair with how the refs were officiating the Blazers as opposed to the Bulls.
Re: Clearly the NBA doesn’t want us to win.
Disagree with the rigged stuff.
The problem with conspiracy nuts is they cherry-pick. They'll find something in their "favor" (in this case a STAT) and then run away with it. Basic context, though, tells you Golden State committed more fouls than just about anyone...all year. More context would also tell you "driving into the paint" =/= post ups or points scored in said area. For reference, the Lakers are ~top 3 in post ups AND fgm in the playoffs. The Warriors rated 13 in both...out of 16 teams.
Even with all of that in mind, people still want to scream "rigged!" :lol

And the same people like tpols will talk about how popular curry he is and how many viewers he brings. But the league will rig a series against him.
Such a bizzare mindset these people have. Losers in life.
"But lakers/Celtics doe!!" :oldlol:
Re: Clearly the NBA doesn’t want us to win.
Glass half empty... Nuggets making the finals would not have the viewership of the Lakers
Glass half full... Jokic on the big stage is an investment for the future. Giannis didnt truly become box office until the Bucks made it to the finals
not hard to make tv ratings tell the story i want :lol
