Not everyone in India is smart. The reason they tend to succeed here are because up until recently, it wasn't easy to come to the US if you were an Indian considering the geography and distance to the US . They don't get refugee status here, so they had to be either extremely motivated or educated/skilled on a work Visa. These refugees from Central and South America, Haiti, the middle east are nothing special. They are mostly bottom of the barrel human beings who will bring this nation to it's knees once automation starts doing most of their jobs and we are stuck caring for them and their dumb kids who could give a rat's ass in appreciation to the nation that saved them

When my dd attended interview invitations for 8 year medical programs, we were surprised to find the invitees were mostly Indian girls (not males - I guess they go engineering). They have similar hard-working, high achieving expectations as Chinese kids but with the added advantage of English being their native language.

Illegal or not. Multiculturalism is not always a good idea. What I see from these new immigrants is absolutely no desire to assimilate. There are more non-English speaking people in this country than ever before.

And my family assimilated. Became U.S. citizens, learned the language, learned the history of the country, etc. No one in my family still talks about Cuba or the Dominican Republic nor do we wave any foreign flags or any of that nonsense.
