You guys all underestimate general coordination for a player of that height. That in itself is already a literal once in an ever thing without even looking at any other thing.
Athleticism is speed, strength, leaping ability, agility, etc. Wemby isn't elite in any category here. He just has a freak combo of length and skill.

You have to take into account relative to size. That's practically the entire point. For our primitive brains you basically have to go with the eye test.
Nobody his height has ever had that level of coordination, mobility, agility, and speed or even remotely close. You dismiss what he has as "skill" and nothing more but there's so much more to it than that. Talent is what he has. Skill is something he is still developing.
He's now listed as 7'5" but he is 7'6" and might really be 7'7" and yet he can guard 1 through 5. Nobody in league history is going to be able to consistently guard prime him because he'll either go around them or shoot over them or overpower them.
You don't seem to understand. This type of thing is already extremely, extremely rare at 7 foot... 7 foot 1. This is literally a 1 of 1 in league history. People's abilities to be what is considered the traditional view of "athlete"(the view you have) go down exponentially with each additional inch of height.
His ceiling is limited by his health and literally nothing else. He will likely be the best player in league history if he stays healthy.

Lets see him as the best player currently before we call him best ever

His size is only vertical. Shaq was over 7 feet tall but actually ridiculously strong and well built. Wemby isn't. Hes a gazelle. I admire his coordination and skill for his length for sure. But athleticism? Nah. Not even close. Thats not why hes great and youre being wierd about it to try and win an internet argument.
The reason why he isn't healthy is because hes not strong. Hes fragilely built. That ain't peak athleticism. Lebron or Shaq is peak athleticism.

Also Wilt Chamberlain. Dude had a higher level strength than Arnold or Andre the Giant while being over 7 foot running and leaping like a deer. Had olympic athletic measurables. You guys have balls making this bold claim and its so silly.

 To put it into perspective.
Imagine if Wemby had Shaqs jumpshot. Hed be a scrub.
That pretty much makes the point.

Nah you just have your own warped perception of what athleticism means and what it looks like. You don't understand what I'm saying and that's fine. I have no more energy for you.

There are different types of athleticism for different jobs. It’s hard to say someone is overall most athletic. You have to specify what you are trying to accomplish.

Could still be a dpoty, rim runner star without a jump shot

Exactly. Hed be Rudy Gobert. :lol
Which is still nice... but most athletic ever? Not even close. Its an absurd proposition.

Depends on how you define athleticism and what components of it you value more than others.
Who's more athletic? A 280-pound man with poor lateral movement, a 4.40 forty, and a 40" vertical or a 225-pound man with exceptional lateral movement, a 4.40 forty, and 40" vertical? Or Wemby: a 7-foot-5-inch, 245-pound man with unparalleled coordination, flexibility, quickness, and balance for someone that tall.

This is exactly the point. It's something you can't definitively determine from a measurement standpoint. You have to just "know" it when you see it and take everything into account. Especially with the full understanding that the taller you get the exponentially less likely it is that you can move like Wemby moves, as an example.

Same with shaq. How many guys his size could move like that and not have their body break down?

You are right. I never said Shaq wasn't elite athletically. Prior to Wembanyama I'd probably go with Shaq overall all time. Vertical, power, top speed, spin quickness.
But Victor's dexterity, agility, speed and coordination surpasses O'Neal particularly when you understand that Wembanyama is way taller than Shaq. He can physically move with WAY more control than Shaq could and he's ****ing half a foot taller! It's insane!!!
