I could really see either Kobe, Duncan or Shaq as the player of the decade, depends on which criterias you value the most. If you consider peak play most important, then Shaq is the obivous choice, but if value consistently greatness throughout the decade, Duncan or Kobe is the man to take.
and as many already have mentioned, lebron isn't even in the discussion if we're talking THE ENTIRE DECADE (though he's been ridicoulously great the last couple of seasons).
my top 5 list would probably be like this:
Duncan
Kobe
Shaq
KG
AI/Dirk
Clearly the best 3
1 - Kobe - had his best years the entire decade
2 - Shaq - Most dominate, but 08 and 09 his game fell off
3 - Duncan - Great player, but other 2 where just better to me
Guys who where good the whole decade
KG
Dirk
Greats part of the decade
Lebron
Wade
Weber
I give my vote to Tim Duncan. Great numbers, multiple championships, and no drama. Unlike Shaq and Kobe, Duncan did not choose individual over team.
LOL at Kobe being number 1.For the first 4 years of the decade he was a sidekick and the next 3 years he either missed the playoffs or was eliminated in the first round. So realistically he only dominated 2008 and 2009 so its a joke.
Fan voting is stupid. But we all know:
Shaq/Duncan
Kobe
KG/Nash
Lebron shouldn't be on there.
No Iverson or Dirk in this poll? What a joke.
i aint even bothered reading all that. i didn't know you were there in the hotel room in Colorado to tell whether he rape that b1tch or not.
ohh u mad cuz hes stylin ur white folks?
stay mad.
These white boys are mad. :oldlol:

Seeing that you are a white Canadian, why do you refer to everyone on this board as a white boy?
What is more foolish is the moronic agendas on this board......I dont agree with the poll, but acting as if Kobe does not have a case for player of the decade is asinine, i dont care how much you hate the guy...He certainly doesn't have a case over Timmy, in my opinion, but I can see him being named player of the decade.
Anyway, it should have been either Tim duncan, Shaq, or Kobe.....These three are BY FAR above any players this decade. The real joke is LeBron finishing second!:oldlol:
Anyone whom's top 4 isn't Shaq, TD, Kobe, or Kg needs their head examined.

For me is should be
Shaq: 40%
Duncan: 35%
Kobe: 25%
1. Duncan
2. Kobe/Shaq
3. Kobe/Shaq
2 and 3 can be disputed either way.
btw, lol @ the mad haters crying because Kobe is #1 when the REAL tragedy is that LeBron is #2!
Your agendas are showing. :oldlol:
This. The real tragedy is LeBron finishing higher than Tim Duncan, Shaq, Kg, and even Iverson, Kidd or Nash.
Tim Duncan is my player of the decade. But you can make a case for either him, Kobe, or Shaq.
Tim Duncan- 3 championships, 2 league Mvps, 2 finals Mvps, 1 all star game mvp
Kobe- 4 championships (most in the decade), 1 league Mvp, 1 finals Mvp, 2 scoring titles, 3 all star game mvps, highest scoring average for the decade.
Shaq- 4 championships (most in the decade), 1 league Mvp, 1 scoring title, 3 finals Mvp, 3 all star game mvps, arguably the greatest finals performer of all time, certainly the best this era......
You cannot go wrong with either of these three, Tim Duncan is my man though.
But LeBron finishing second is blasphemous. I seriously wouldn't put him over Wade for the decade.
:oldlol: @ the Laker apologist. Anyone other than Tim or Kobe rounding out the top two is bullshit. Like someone said, the fact some of you are more concerned with Bryant winning than worrying about Lebron being second is the real issue. Especially the 'Laker' fans. Give me a break.

If you had looked just a little bit further up on the page, you would have seen that i had Iverson and Dirk tied for 5th for the decade, doesn't that seem like a reasonable ranking to you?
wade is not the best player on his own team...come one man....THINK
Did you look at the date of the post before you bumped it? Common man, THINK!
My list would be
1. Kobe
2. Duncan
3. Shaq
Shaq was a no show for the majority of the other half decade. Duncan kind of fell off the past few years.
The Fan poll voters

That poll is just sad.
For me it's:
1. Tim Duncan
2. Shaquille O'Neal
3. Kobe Bryant
the rest
when was the last time Shaq was a legit factor in the league? when he was with Miami. That was, what, 2006?
That leaves TD and Kobe. Either one is worthy, imo.
no one else is a factor.
Fans are stupid
And you are what exactly?
The minority
1. kobe
2. shaq
3. duncan
4. dirk
5. kg
Kobe has been the best player of his generation, why is this a shock to anyone
1.Shaq
2.Duncan
3.Kobe
i hope your mom dies of brain infection.
No mad
the words and style ... hmmm Lebron23?
That's because it's the same mentally ill asian Lakers fans who have created a program that votes for Kobe 24-7
Only Players who should be in Top 3 discussion is
Kobe Shaq and Duncan in that Fucccking order.
Kobe resume speaks for this Decade with consitantly being in Top Player Discussion and won 5, FIVE rings out of 10.
Shaq out of the 3 had the Highest Peak has one more ring then Duncan which gave him the edge. Was not consistent during second half of the decade but his Peak makes it up.
Duncan had amazing first half of the Decade but started slowing down after 06 so due to Consistency will be behind Shaq.
#4 is KG no questions ask. If you do have questions or comments about it then you obviously dont like KG or you started watching Basketball after 07.
#5 LeBron James. Came into the League in 03 and Put a lot of stats and W's but no Ring/Rings to back him up to put him higher.
#6 D-Wade You know who he is, Only SG right behind MJ and Kobez
#7 Dirk People need to understand Dirk didnt win The Decade we are talking about and He was not EVEN close to being the player he is now but Dirk has consistently carried his team to 50 wins and won a MVP but a long shot from beating out players like KG and Above.

2000-09 decade;
Duncan > Kobe > Shaq
Whole careers;
Duncan >= Shaq > Kobe
Did not read any post of this thread, but if anyone disagrees and thinks KG should be ahead of Kobe they need to be banned.
The poll must have been opened for the Chinese fan base.
The fans are, for the most part, young and unaware. If you pay attention to basketball and don't get caught up in media hype, then it's easy to see the answer.
This, 15 yrs old kids or less have no fkin idea about how dominant Shaq was.

No way... shaq played for 19 years and dominated up until his last 5... he was dominating 92-06, sure he declined but he was a huge factor. Duncan was drafted in what... 96 or 97 and averaged 13ppg these playoffs? Give me a break
Kobe is easily the best player of the decade. He dominated the ENTIRE 10 years while Shaq pretty much done by about 2005. :facepalm

Go and read Duncan-Shaq threads. Both sides have cases. I have Duncan over Shaq in my goat list. I don't have time to waste for you, sorry.
Kobe, Duncan Shaq, put it in any order I don't care but those guys are it. They combined for 8 of the 10 championships from 2001-2010 and 10 of 10 finals appearances.
