Great Great game.....Home team gets to the finals!
bullshit refereeing they gifted it to turkey
Little confused with that ending. How did Serbia get the ball back with 0.5 seconds? They quickly in-bounded the ball down the court after the winning basket was scored by Turkey. I thought it went out of bounds off a Serbian player.
I'm guessing the pass was deflected by a Turkish player? So much chaos happened after the basket, it was hard to follow.

It got blocked by Erden if thats what you mean?
The refs affected this one, I don't like it.

timeout was taken? hence why the ball was taken at halfcourt:confusedshrug:

Before that possession. After Turkey scored the winning basket, I saw one of the Serbian players quickly lob the ball down the court. I thought it went off a Serbian player. Or was timeout called?

I guess. Perhaps a timeout was given before the Serbian player in-bounded ball. Anyway, it's irrelevant now.

Serbia had the ball with 0.5 secs left, because that's what the clock showed after Turkey's game winner layup went in. And Serbia called a timeout after the shot went in. The refs checked the clock, made the call and Serbia inbounded with an alleyoop.

Got it. Thanks.
What happened with Asik? Is he okay? :oldlol:
Brilliant performance by him, he deserves an Oscar... :lol

its a ****ing gift to the home crowd, every time Serbia would take the lead the refs would get the turks back into the game
its a ****ing gift to the home crowd, every time Serbia would take the lead the refs would get the turks back into the game
lol Serbia couldnt defend late in the 4th quarter.
And btw Asik got hit in the eye , he wasnt acting

All serbia had to do is defend. 8point lead with 3 minutes remaining should be game over. If they knew how to defend. nonetheless great game by the 2teams.
true, the defense was bad especially on the last play but refereeing was disgraceful in most of the second half. 2 times the turkish players slapped the serbians and no technical

shouldve never been close anyway, gifted game.
the only other medal the turks ever won in basketball was when the came second (behind Serbia) in 2001 eurobasket and guess what, it was played in Turkey
hope they get mauled by the USA
And btw Asik got hit in the eye , he wasnt acting
Yeah he got hit in the eye, but he was ACTING badly.

That touch foul on Krstic was crap, especially when they didn't call a harder hit down at the other end on the next play. Serbia could have been up by 2 instead of 1 there at the end.
Anyone have a link to good video highlights from this game? I missed the game and I'm having trouble finding any.
The refereeing was extremely badly. Krstic was fouled out for nothing. They called touch fouls on the Serbs and no technicals went on the Turks even though one guy (didn't really see who) pushed Teodosic initiating a fight. Serbia is the more quality team from these two but it's just where home court happens.

I don't get some of you guys... Maybe you're from Serbia or something but as an unbiased fan I thought the refs were decent, not great and not terrible. Ilyasova got just as many bad foul-calls as Krstic so it was pretty equal and Turkey had 1 player with 5 fouls, one with 4 and 5 players with 3 fouls so they sure got alot of foulcalls towards them... And don't forget the fact that Turkey were more aggressive, while the serbs relied on their 3-pointshooting, the turkish players played mostly in the paint.
And yeah, the push wasn't nice but it sure as hell wasn't a flagrant. And talking about fights, in my honest opinion Krstic shouldn't even had been allowed to play in WC after the dude threw a freaking chair at the greek..
It will be a nice final tomorrow, I don't care which team wins as long at it's a good game.

Well if you serbs didnt support your dictator then maybe we would still had our Yugoslavia and be dominating European & International basketball like we used to considering we had back then the luxury of picking the best players from entire balkans.... :P
too bad for the finals as Serbia wouldve had a much better shot at the Americans.. the Turks will get demolished

sorry but we dont need you :D serbia won shitloads of medals since '95
altho the yugo team wouldve won even more
what did you think of the officiating as a neutral?

Hehe, just whining... but damn we was dominant back then, just stacking up the team with ridicilous talent from all over the place, like Drazen Petrovic, Toni Kukoc, Dino Radja, Bodiroga, Vlade Divac, Djordjevic, Danilovic and so on... Throughout Yugoslavia's short basketball history in my opinion produced some of the best basketball players ever!
PS: I never complain about officiating, i am used to it after all this time... officiating is probably the toughest job on the floor, no officials can make the right calls thru out the course of even a single game.... might aswell live with it.
slovenia croatia and serbia have very good teams, even montengero have pekovic.. wouldve made a nice squad
in my opinion if yugo team played together in the 90s with divac radja petrovic kukoc djordjevic danilovic all together, wouldve made it interesting for the dream team.. maybe even beat the '96 US team
too bad for the finals as Serbia wouldve had a much better shot at the Americans.. the Turks will get demolished
Ok, you're getting a bit silly..
Serbia lost to freaking Germany in the groupstage, the same Germany even lost to Angola... It's not like Serbia were unbeatable and were crushing every team before they met Turkey...
Turkey has been great, this far they've crushed Slovenia, France, Cote D'Ivoire, China and have had good wins over Puerto Rico, Greece, Russia and they have yet to lose..
I'm not claiming that Turkey is like top of the top because they're not but you are talking like the serbs are damn much better which they're really not..
shouldve never been close anyway, gifted game.

pretty sure that krstic was suspended when they lost to germany, maybe even teodosic i dont remember. also they demolished the turks 2 teams before the tournament, you know without the home court officiating
also pretty sure the serbs are 5 times more talented and have a better coach, but still inexperienced which showed in the last 5 minutes

Yadi Yadi Yadi... Dude, Turkey won, get over it. And if they'd be 5 times more talented they wouldn't have lost, even how "bad" the ref would be.
Btw, if they're so damn talented, how come they couldn't win against a crappy Germany when Milos and mr chairthrower were suspended? Serbia is great, don't get me wrong and I'm not claiming that Turkey are god's of basketball, I really just watched the game without cheering for anyone and I loved the game, it was great.
And the importance of a pre-torunament game is absolute zero, that's doesn't mean crap.
Serbia > Turkey > Serbia without Teodosic
Teodosic missed a 3pt shot at 4th quarter and then lost his focus on match. Teo is great talent but sometimes when things go wrong, he can't handle the game. Then he tries other -dirty- ways like provoking players in order to win. He failed this time.
k k youa re probably right, im just pissed off. turks werent that bad and serbia did play shit defense on that last play.. this will be good experience for the youngsters
Neutral supporter here and it was blatantly obvious who the refs wanted in the finals. I mean come on. The only times the Turks have beat Serbia is in Turkey. lol...
Funny how the calls started getting lopsided at the end of the game. It's a general trend I've noticed throughout the whole tournament. Serbia and USA getting the rough end of the officiating, both getting hacked on layups and no calls, both getting pushed off the ball and occasionally even getting offensive fouls when they're the ones getting killed by the defensive player.
Very undeserving finalist in Turkey IMO.
What a surprise. Turks go undefeated as the host country. Too bad no amount of ref rigging will help them win vs. USA. Prepare to get exposed.
That dude is just mad that Turkey won and that the coach of Turkey (and assistant are both Bosnian) and if you know a bit about history Serbs have a huge history with Turkey and Bosnia.
With that being said it's funny how whenever they lose they start throwing excuses. Great job Turkey! :applause:

Umm, it has nothing to do with that. Several objective supporters not going for either team have pointed out that Turkey got terribly favored.
It's really not a coincidence that the only time the Turks have beat them is on home soil.

Hell if Yugoslavia still existed today, they would be FIFA World Cup Champs and FIBA Champs as well. Talk about Domination!
Even look at it now for the Euro qualifications (soccer), #1 teams in the different groups were Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia and Montengro (Slovenia was 2nd).

Honestly, even if the game was reffed perfectly, someone would use an excuse to make up for the loss.
Bogdan Tanjevic is Serb you ****ing imbecile. There are shitloads of Serbs in Montenegro and Bosnia and he is one of them (as am I).
I'm glad that most neutrals here confirm that the refereeing was shameful and that the turks are undeserving finalists

yugo team would be great but there would be no ****ing bosniaks in it coz they are all shit. bosnia doesnt belong in this convo

True that, like Slovenians dont belong in footie talk from countries of former Yugoslavia:D
And yeah Turkey was pushed by refs, but it was a very good game,Tunceri on one side and Keselj+Teodosic on the another were ****ing amazing, its ridicolous how young and how good Serbia is,when Tripkovic is back they will score 20 three pointers in average per game:D
and I'm Croatian so this is even more annoying for me:D
