Sad to see.. was a very talented player.

damn picking him over bargnani doesnt seem like such a great idea anymore
hope he recovers and we see him in the league someday
Probably one of the single greatest plays Brandon Roy made in a game:

I've never heard the other teams crowd react in that way to something the Blazers did. The Clipper fans almost seemed to cheer this play.
And who are you? Roy's doctor? Roy's knees?
I'm from Seattle and it's a well-known fact that he has always had iffy knees. You don't need to be his doctor or knees to know that. He knew it, UW knew it, and Portland knew it. They took a chance because even though he didn't have explosiveness and crazy athleticism, he had a complete players game and intangibles that were off the charts.
I want to see him play, but not off the bench for some random team....all the while continuing to ruin his knees. Dudes nearing 30 and has a family to tend to. Gotta do what you gotta do. Maybe Portland will retire his number?
Wow... add him to the list with Penny, TMac, Hill :(
This wreaks of an insurance settlement. I wonder what the details are. I hope he is able to come back for spot duty in a few years.
Another reason not to stay in college for 4 years...

Cheik Samb shortly retired after that night.
Really sad news. I loved to watch Brandon play, he had such a smooth intelligent game.

Yeah, and who the f*ck are you supposed to be?
Stop saying sh*t if it adds nothing to the conversation. You're coming into this thread, showing a real lack of knowledge about the situation and about knee issues in general. Brandon's knees were already shot up since college. This is a longevity issue not an issue where if he didn't play for two or three games, everything would've been okay. No. It doesn't work like that.
You're only making yourself an idiot by continuing to post.
Damm. I liked him as a player. When your knees go, you go.
