Greg Oden had another MAJOR knee surgery again today

I had Oden pegged for HOF.

2 issues with that statement

1. Roy and Durant did not play the same position. KD was obviously best suited for the 3, so how does having Roy mean you don't need Durant?

2. The Blazers were equally weak at the 5 (they started Joel Pryzbilla there) and the 3 (starter was Travis Outlaw).

It's pretty sad.

The excuse for taking Oden over Durant has always been you need a dominating center to win it all. When was the last time a team with a dominating center won the title? Not since Shaq and that was a long time ago. It's a myth and Blazers have paid that price twice, first with Bowie and then Oden.

Would be nice, but its simply not possible. He's had 2 surgeries from injuries he suffered rehabbing after being injured in his last NBA game. His career playing basketball is over.

At its current state, his body is just not meant to handle the stress that is caused by basketball.

You do realize Oden's left leg is one inch longer than his right leg, right? Google it. Then Google why having disproportionate legs is bad for a REGULAR PERSON let alone an athlete whose chosen sports is to jump and run 100% of the time. The doctors have told the Blazers that Oden is not suited to play basketball but they didn't listen.

Still, why does Kobe have to go to Germany on word-of-mouth to get "State-of-the-art" treatment on his knee? wth? And it basically just sounded like reinjecting his own spun-down serum back into his knee for pain relief?

He really should go to Germany (tho I don't know if that helps him) and he should try and go to a place with a known medical staff. That's not Portland. Phoenix seems a good option, if they were interested. Anywhere else?

I miss that dude. His miracle shot against the Mavs in the Playoffs, man. That's my last memory of him before he retired.

Gave up? Brandon Roy decided being able to walk normally was more important that continuing to abuse his body chasing a dream. Can you blame him?

I probably used the wrong term. I love Roy's game. Nothing flashy but produces amazing result.

Its just that I never expected Roy to retire before Oden. One played recently and the other is getting injured while under rehab
