Complelty unprofessional on his part, but he was always one who needed coddling.
Bet you Pat Riley goes after for a 3rd time this summer though.

hard to believe that a pro athlete who grew up on gritty streets of NYC is so mentally SOFT.
Odom played the Mavs :pimp:
This so much. I've said since day one that Lamar was sent here by the Lakers to ruin our season. They are still salty about the MDM and they planted Lame Lame to screw with us.
Sashay away ahole, you are officially the worst Maverick of all time.
^^^ you're a fool if you literally think the Odom came here to sabatage the Mavs to get revenge for last year's sweep
If he really did do that, the joke is on him...it is at his expense...his rep is now complete garbage
and the Mavs have moved on
the Mav's Championship team was ripped apart with or without Odom...he didn't do any damage that wasn't already there...we are 0-7 WITHOUT him
Cuban thinking he got another steal. Mitch set him straight....:oldlol: :oldlol: :oldlol:

It's sabotage...and it's a joke. Much like Lame-ar's season this year.
i just heard they're paying him for the rest of the season :wtf:
how the hell does that work? dude practically gives up on your team, lies about his father being so ill, lets everyone know he doesn't want to be there, so he gets to go home while being paid?!!!1 :biggums: :coleman:
i don't even get why Cuban is holding on to him, to think he can get anything for Odom at this point, unless Kupchak is sympathetic and will do a trade-back. I'd get it if Cuban gave him to the Hornets or Bobcats for free just to humiliate him, but to pay him for the rest of the season and let him go home?
makes no sense to reward a quitter, especially one that quit on YOUR team...real disappointed in you Cuban if you're reading this. you shouldn't have even let him go with having to be with his father BS....
i hope he dies or at least gets hurt so he will never play again.
****in asshole. you know what? just die!
:oldlol:
:applause:
good
Azubuike got called up too, even better.
this, how can he got scott free on this, even if Mavs keep him as trade bait, who in his right mind will risk trading for him. If he wasnt in his right state of mind he should have just not played or retired.
Im sure if you guys acquired a player of his caliber who was still fairly young and played the way Odom is playing you would have also been crying for his head.
Damn imagine if we just traded for Gerald Wallace instead of this guy.
I would be pissed, as would Kupchak and Buss, but neither of them would have publicly called out Lamar and questioned his commitment and desire to help the team.
shoulda stayed w/ the lakers

even if he left the team saying his father was sick, and his father only had a stomach virus? whre he's on TMZ a day later saying he's fine? you don't think Lakers management would have had a issue with that? even the Mav's swept that under the rug and didn't make a big issue of it.
i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure the Odom sulking and being butthurt about being traded from the Lakers came first, then his poor play and lack of effort so Mav's fans/players/coaches say(i didn't watch him), then they called him out i believe. i don't get how its not all on Odom, other than how Cuban is handling the punishment all wrong....

I'm not sure what was wrong with his father or whether there was anything wrong with him to begin with, but I wouldn't take Odom's word for it. Stuff like that is a private matter and should stay in house. Whatever it was, I'm sure he had a good reason to ask for a leave of absence, as he has never asked for that type of treatment before.
Of course Dallas has the right to call him out for his questionable attitude, but they don't have to make it public. They should have talked to him privately and told him to be more professional. Like it or not, Odom has showed up to work and played. Maybe he hasn't played well, maybe his demeanor hasn't been the best, but he has, for the most part, fulfilled his obligation to the Mavericks.

Bet you Pat Riley goes after for a 3rd time this summer though.
The bolded is so true. If there was one thing that Phil did well was manage Odom very well. He rarely called out Odom for his inconsistencies and instead focused on the positive with him.It got him to play his most consistent years during the lakers runs. Even when he made him the sixth man he had Odom focus on the positives of it and how he could win 6MOY.
Too much Drake.
shoulda stayed w/ the lakers
yes. Lamar had that option.
yes. Lamar had that option.
He is the one that requested the trade after the botched CP3 deal.

you should know the facts before you defend him then. Odom took a leave of absence to be with his 'sick father', which was the story the Mav's had and they let him go....
a few days later TMZ puts up a video of Odom's father talking about how he's fine, and how all he had was a stomach virus.
Odom even showed back up to the Mav's later than he was supposed to, where they weren't happy about that either.
these are facts btw, you can't refute the official reason for Odom leaving the Mav's at that time since its in articles, and you can't refute the Odom father interview since its dated and he's speaking directly to the camera.
yeah he's played with half effort, uninspired and depressed....to say you'd be fine with that if it happened to the Lakers? no way you would
Too much Drake.
Poor showing Lamar. He's chosen reality TV over Basketball. A complete slap in the face to the Mavs organization, and NBA fans all around the World.

Did you not read the part where I said you SHOULDN'T take his word for it because it's a personal matter? You should learn to read.
Poor showing Lamar. He's chosen reality TV over Basketball. All for the Ratings :lol

The CP3 deal went south. After they "tried" to trade him he talked with management and it was his choice on wanting to be traded because he felt "hurt" by them.
He was a **drain** on the team.
He was like a friend you hang around that would constantly mope, b*tch, complain. It might not get to you at first but after awhile it wears on you and it brings you down big time.
That is what Lamar was doing to the Mavs. He was a constant anchor to the Mavs trying to move forward.
(In fact there were several times that Lamar would tell a teammate in the lockerroom: "I can't believe who yall have to play. That's right, he didn't ever say "we" when refering to the Mavs. He would say "they.")

Which was the most ridiculous thing ever, by the way. Who gets butthurt that you're traded for ****ing chris paul? He should of been proud that his value is that freaking high. He and pau would only be traded to get back one of the 3 best pgs in the game. Cmon now.
There was no reason for him to request that trade.. screwed himself over and the lakers.. although I believe the lakers might have traded him and pau for rondo and bass, that was going to be an option.....

Why would you expect anything less? How many times in history has a guy who's been on a team for years and won championships, loses to a team in the playoffs and then is happy to go join the team he lost to?
He was busy hating and bad mouthing every single one of that teams players..... Theres no way you can just go and be bro's with them now. I don't know why dal of all teams would want to sign him and not suspect this would happen... any other team, fine.
What a ****ing ***** Odom is. He should try his hardest all the time, or give his money back. He's basically on welfare amounting to millions.
Can LA pick him up this season?
Do it Mitch :socalmikesmokingsmiley

:oldlol: Right. His cousin dying, his driver killing that kid, his father's illness, and the possible marriage problems obviously don't play a role. He's playing bad because he doesn't like Dallas.

pretty sure he chose Dallas. didn't Kupchak give him an option or ask him which team he wanted to be traded to?
i also get it psychologically for why he asked to be traded to spite the management that wanted to trade him, even tho he loved the Lakers so much. Its still his own dumb fault and it all comes down to Odom being overly sensitive for why all of this occurred. thats the reason why he asked to be traded from the team he loved, and also the reason why he couldn't handle being away from them and in Dallas....he's got the sensitivities of a lil girl.

There is the article. Just proves to me even more that Rick Carlisle is a terrible coach and should be fired. People think he's a good coach because Dirk went into "NBA LIVE" mode? Get real.
you are a moron dude.
:oldlol: Right. His cousin dying, his driver killing that kid, his father's illness, and the possible marriage problems obviously don't play a role. He's playing bad because he doesn't like Dallas.
he was just a passenger in the car riding backseat, if anyone should be traumatized from that hit, its the driver....
his father had a stomach virus, was over in like a day~
i don't think they got marriage problems, altho i'm sure they will once Odom gets tired of how fake Khloe is with the high pitch schmoopie talk, then going into diva bitch mode. thats completely on Odom tho.
the things i feel sorry for Odom he should've long recovered from like his mom and relatives dying when he was very young and basically raising himself. i don't even get why he wants a relationship with a father that left him and his mom out to dry. it pisses me off that he even makes an effort to get to know and be with his deadbeat father :facepalm
:oldlol: Right. His cousin dying, his driver killing that kid, his father's illness, and the possible marriage problems obviously don't play a role. He's playing bad because he doesn't like Dallas.
You honestly believe he wouldn't have been completely fine in LA? Wouldn't have been fighting for an all star spot this year?
On the show (after the driver and cousin stuff) I saw a glimpse of the show and he was calling someone all giddy saying Coach brown is pro odom, I heard coach brown is a fan of lamar odom.. I think my spot is secure. All giddy.

What type of message does this send to the other weak minded players in the league??? I guess this is what the owners were fighting for over the Summer. DMC is probably drooling. Could you imagine Blake going to a city where he couldn't get foul calls? He would marry Kim Kardashian just to scare off teams. :lol

yeah its absurd. i mean they basically rewarded Odom with getting paid while doing whatever he wants now, well, other than playing again this year. now he can just focus on his reality show while making like 9 mill~ for doing nothing :facepalm 9 f'in Mill....you couldn't have low balled him on a buyout Cuban?!!! :wtf:
i'd love to hear what Cuban has to say behind closed doors. still not sure what he's thinking in terms of trading him. i can't see them getting much, if anything for a player that only wants to play for the Lakers.
this all makes no sense from the Mav's side IMO.
What a cry baby. No excuses to be made for his absolutely terrible play.
Ah well. Lamar wants to be a TV star, he
Odom is an @$$hole.
Wasn't it reported not long ago he regretted doing his own show and didn't realise how much it would interfere with his basketball? I really hope noone picks him up, he deserves to be out of the league after all the bullshit he's thrown out this season. He's payed millions of dollars to play ball but he's more focused on his tv show. Other players have personal issues too but they still perform. If i lost members of my family my work would be expecting me to still turn up and do my job months after it's all happened. Didn't Big Baby lose 2 family members this season? He came back and kept playing. Thomas Robinson in college lost his grandma, grandpa and his mum without a dad and while looking after his little sister, he still came out to play. Odom was my favourite laker but now i really can't stand him.
Someone on this site predicted that Odom wouldn't improve as the season progressed further. Well done sir, well done. :lebronamazed:
That was me. I made a thread at the beginning of the season about Odom being a product of Kobe, Phil Jackson and the triangle. I said that he was done, and I got flamed left and right for it.
I just love being right though. Haters gonna hate.:kobe:
