Re: Slightly Obscure 90s Nostalgia Players
99% of these guys being named are not obscure, they are just simply players from the 90's, many of which were good players and even all stars.
Maybe I am being harsh, as 3/4 of the board were in diapers.
Obscure to me would be someone like The Hambone

Most people posting here are 15-18 or so. That means they were born from 94-97.
I clearly remember the 6th man for the bucks in 94, Todd Day.

Re: Slightly Obscure 90s Nostalgia Players
I used to really like Elden Campbell for the Lakers. He was a 6'11 guy that could jump out of the gym. He was fun to watch because he was always dunking and blocking shots. He played well in the 1991 NBA Finals as a rookie once they let him play. He developed into a solid player later on. Never really a star because he would get into foul trouble a lot and he would turn the ball over on offense.

Not obscure at all really. Know all of them so far and remember most of them vividly, also because a lot of them played in the beginning of this decade.
I like how many former Blazers were posted:
Stacey Augmon
Gary Grant
Walt Williams
Detlef Schrempf
Terry Porter
Ken Norman
Ken Norman was going to be one of my posts. When I was younger I decided I wanted a new favorite player to follow (while retaining my other favorites) so I decided I'd pick up a pile of my basketball cards and count through to a pre-determined number, at which point I'd have a new favorite. That card ended up being Ken Norman and briefly, I began collecting Ken Norman cards.
Also, I sort of liked Blue Edwards:

Did you notice how my topic title says "Slightly obscure nostalgia?"
Slightly means to a small degree
Obscure means not known about
Nostalgia means a longing or appreciation for memories of the past.
So by my definition, these players should be not easily known about, but only to a small degree, and also significant enough players to bring back good memories from the 90s.
That doesn't mean go back and find the 12th guy on a random NBA roster and post his name. That's not very nostalgic.
Kids these days wouldn't know who 75% of these players are, but us posters who followed basketball in the 90s will, which is exactly the point.

Again, that means they are doing something right. Because you remember these guys, but they weren't superstars or anything.
Michael Jordan would not be considered "slightly obscure."
But Roy Marble would not be considered "nostalgic" because no one even has any good memories of him.
We're talking about guys in between.

Cool thread. I had love for Dell Curry's steez (remember when people said 'steez'?) I recall this one time he faked out a defender bad, shuffled sideways with a couple of dribbles and nailed a smooth 3 pointer. Doesn't sound like much but it was just his cool style which made an impression on me.

This thread is hilarious:roll:
I'm glad people remember Loyd Vaught (shit, did I even spell that correctly?) those Clipper teams had good players at one point. He was considered their best player until Odom and company came to town.
What strikes me is, almost all of these players don't have highlights on youTube. Not just because technology was different, but because most of these cats don't have many highlights worth looking at. Most of these player's games are very basic and fundamental. Yet, it's the type of game that actually matters. Which is why I'd take most of the big men posted here over dudes like Griffin and others today.
I'm trying to think of somebody to add, I'll do so in a moment.
