See SI's Top 100 list from this past summer.
I might actually move him up to around 15 after this season because some guys have fallen off. But he's still not comparable to KD.
I did and you said Melo MIGHT break top 20. MIGHT. Yet the list clearly shows he was in the top 20 (ranked 20). So where is this MIGHT...MIGHT crap? Durant was ranked 8. You said Durant was a top 2 player. So which is it? you going to cite Sports Illustrated rankings and go by them or create your own?
I cant hear you, speak up. Because if your counter is to say the rankings were made before the season and as of today Durant moved from 8 to 2. Then where did Melo move down? You cant say that. Just makes your entire post and reply "See SI top 100" posts seem utterly ridiculous.
Go to the ladies room and powder. Fix yourself up.

I pointed to that list because I can't be arsed to make my own. And I already conceded that he's closer to 15.
KD is clearly better than last year. Where did Melo improve?
GOBB is a closet Melo fan
pauk is so terrified :oldlol:
so obviously insecure :hammerhead:
The difference is that KD is a star player. Melo is JR Smith.
1st off: Durant is a much smarter player and rarely gets himself in a spot that is not best for the team
Durant is a much, much better shooter.
Durant has better handles and is a much, much better slasher.
Durant is a better passer due to his willingness to pass. Anthony may average more assists, but that is because he is more ball dominant
Durant is a better rebounder but it's slim
Durant is a much, much better defender
Hell Durant might even be better at ISO sets at this point due to his ridiculous height
I remember when KD was first coming up and arguing this. KD's defense has improved since than and Melo is still the same in that area. When he tries? He's actually pretty good but doesn't consistently look to defend. A big advantage Melo use to have was playoff experience. At this point the playoffs probably favor Durant.
Durant is the better player. He keeps on getting better while it feels like Carmelo is regressing. 2 years ago it would have been laughable to suggest Durant was comparable getting others involved as well as Melo but nowadays you could probably argue it's true.
Melo's still the more versatile scorer and better rebounder and saying he isn't a top 20 player is ridiculous. If he turns it on next year he'll be right back to where he was before. Durant however took that next step and has became a truly elite player.
Melo has a better post game and thats it.
I think this is the best way to view it. With every Durant vs. __________ thread he's just getting more and more insecure and realizing, at 23, Durant is catching up to LeBron in a hurry.
well, a Melo vs Durant thread. This is new.
anyhow, KD is a great player but the difference btwn him and Melo isn't as great as some wanna make it sound.
Its funny 'cuz Melo, who supposedly has the "most overrated" tag attached to him by many posters, gets bashed so much in comparison to his peers, that I actually find him to be UNDERRATED on this board.
KD is a more efficient player I'll give you that. Taller/longer, better finisher, better shooter. But Melo is a great shooter in his own right, and has a much better frame to absorb and dish out contact. Both are insanely hard to guard on most nights.
IMO Melo's the better rebounder. As for defense gimme a break, KD's defense is nothing special. Tired of this "much better defender" crap.
KD is the better player overall, but its closer than perceived, not some canyon-wide gap like the Melo-haters/KD-lovers would want you to believe.
BTW, why do ppl refuse to take KD's superstar teammates into account when discussing his 'greatness'???
Westbrook may have pretty low PG IQ but the kid is a bonafide stud, and Harden has an argument for being considered the best 2-guard in the league at the moment.
The KD/Westbrook/Harden trio is possibly the best in the league w/ only MIA having a trio worthy of being in that discussion.
wow .. lebron prostitutes trying so hard. insecurity much?

''a low self esteem prostitute who wishes to see much more women engaged in prostitution''
that's Lebron and his jockers
Lebron is the prostitute of the NBA
his jockers are the prostitutes of ISH
:facepalm
They both can only dunk because of their length, so I'd say they are not different at all.
Durant >> Lebron > Melo
Durant >> Lebron > Melo
This.
Melo is not on Durant's level
The better question is whats the difference between tmac and ray allen. One is overrated because of statpadding just like lebron while the other one is a winner like durant. Durant at age 23 already made a team a contender or even 21 coz theres no difference really in the west between 8th seed and 1st seed while lebron at age 23 is not even a playoff team in the west.
