Re: Magic and Skip say Jordan would beat Lebron 10 out of 10 one v one
Jason Terry outscored him in the Finals...in no universe should Terry out score the best player in the league. Would Terry out score Jordan in a Finals series.
Thought so...
Jason Terry comes in to shoot. Was Jason Terry sent in to run the offense and all that? Was he the defensive anchor for Dallas? Did the Heat owners and players come out and say their main objective on defense was to stop Jason Terry bro? Come on man. You have Scottie Pippen as your avatar bro. Act like you know basketball please bro. Don't rep Scottie like that. Act like you have a basketball mind man please.

Dude, LBJ is the Heat's best offensive player and their biggest mismatch on offense, HE SHOULD NOT GET OUTSCORED BY A SUB NO MATTER HOW MUCH THAT SUB JACKS UP SHOTS!!!!
You're the only one who seems baffled by this concept.

Re: Magic and Skip say Jordan would beat Lebron 10 out of 10 one v one
Lebron could beat him... but Jordan would have the mental advantage and that's a lot of the battle especially in one on one.
So you can punk somebody by hitting a shot and talking some trash? You do know that happens all game every game right? It's part of basketball. That ain't punking him IMO. again, this isn't the ufc. i agree, it is basketball, but if you were going to use the term punk in a basketball game....it would be talking trash then hitting big shots in their face.

Re: Magic and Skip say Jordan would beat Lebron 10 out of 10 one v one
Ummm....he gaurded Pau Gasol for like 3 possessions. The ability to guard a player for a few possesions don't necessarily mean you can guard that position.
Tell me when he consistently guards the opposing team's big men. HE HASN'T.
That's the biggest myth that BSPN has put out there.
Yes, technically he can guard all 5 positions, but that doesn't mean he's effective at it.
Magic Johnson played center for a game in the Finals. Does that make him one of the great centers of all time?
Floyd Mayweather can fight the Klitschko brothers, does it mean he'll be effective?
Edit: Rodman and Pippen are MUCH better defenders than Lebron.
:biggums: :wtf: :facepalm
He played center for two games for Cleveland. One was on Tyson chandler and he did fine. Chandlers no beast in the post, but no average sf would be as to guard him for a whole game.
Also, Lebron plays the 4 a lot for Miami.
Also, there are things called rotations, fast breaks, and pick and rolls where players end up on people who they aren't normally guarding. Lebron can switch out onto anyone on the floor 95% of the time and its not a mismatch. Because he can guard Westbrook, D rose, Paul pierce, serve ibaka, or Tyson chandler.

The whole team was geard towards stopping Lebron James. Not the Miami Heat. LEBRON JAMES. You should check out the game footage and listen to Mark Cuban explaint the defensive scheme they ran on Lebron. It was a thing of beauty.

I bet Lebron is Secretly hurt by Jordan's recent statements but it also should fuel him to keep being Great and keep on winning.
Obviously, Lebron is unbelievable and Jordan is 49, but the point is that it shows how strong of a one on one player Jordan is that he still beats current NBA players who are in the best shape of their lives, so the point of my comment was, "Imagine prime Jordan then." Jordan would be shit if came back to the NBA at the age of 50 probably even compared to the current players he's beating one on one, but one on one is a completely different game is the point, so you just can't judge it by the physical look of the players.

No shit, Sherlock. The best player on a team usually gets the most attention defensively from the opposing team.

Did you listen to Mark Cuban break down the defense they ran against him? I would imagine the shots that Jason Terry got were a hell of a lot easier to get off than the shots Lebron took.

Re: Magic and Skip say Jordan would beat Lebron 10 out of 10 one v one
These debates are pointless but I do think that Jordan would beat Lebrn 8 out of 10 games. If they played 1 v 1, Jordan would get those 8 wins. We can't kid ourselvs. Those of us that have see Jordan play know what he was capable of doing. And how he would use any defeat, slight, or negative comment to motivate himself. Once Lebron won a game, it would have been all out warfare on that court. You guys forget, Jordan kept a dunklist while in college, of players that he just had o dunk on....just for fun. And that killer instinct that Jordan had. Jordan in his prime would get 8 out of 10 wins against Lebron.

Far worse players than LeBron could get at least 1 out of 10 against Jordan... In 1 on 1s, inferior players can easily win if they get into a zone with their jumpshot.

Only player that could beat MJ consistently is Kobe. MJ will still win the series though.
AI would give MJ a scare but it'd only last 3-5 points.

Re: Magic and Skip say Jordan would beat Lebron 10 out of 10 one v one
I would pick MJ to win 1on1 vs Bron every time if I were a betting man.
I'd also pick prime Kobe over prime LeBron 1 on 1 and it's not even close.
That being said... I'd still take LeBron over both of those guys when starting a team from scratch. LeBron's play style is more conducive to winning than Jordan and Bryant.
Basically, LeBron can elevate everyone around him. Those guys can't.
LeBron is the best team basketball player that ever lived.

So if i were to hit a three in your face and said something like that's how I'm gonna bust your ass all game, then I just punked you?
What if you score on the next possession and talk shit? Did you punk me back or does that negate me punking you? Or did we not punk each other at all?
The only punking I know is if i hit you with a hard foul and you get mad about, but you bitch up and don't tell me anything about it and or don't retaliate. Then I'd say I punked you.

No. If you were to tell somebody prior to the game that you were gonna "bust their ass all game" and then you outscored them in the game & hit a 3 in their eye to seal the game..
then you've punked them.

We just have different views on the word punked, you obviously link it to a violent act while I link it to someone making you look foolish in a basketball game.
If my oppossing player keeps saying he's gonna score on me no matter what I do and he baxks it up and I can't stop him and he goes on to drain the game winner in my face, I could pretty much expect my teammates to tell me he punked me in that game.

Have you watched the past 8-10 Heat games? Almost every 3 he puts up is money. Defenders are scared to jump on it as much because they know he will blow by them for a dunk.
Prime Jordan vs Prime LeBron wins 6 out 10 close games, no way in hell he dominates him in any way shape or form.

Re: Magic and Skip say Jordan would beat Lebron 10 out of 10 one v one
Who cares who would beat who in a game of 1-on-1? Ugh, I hate this mentality.
:banghead:
Basketball is not reducible to who can go 1-on-1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 better than another. People should just disband every team then and just throw everyone into the AND1 circuit and play "seasons" in which everyone can go 1-on-1 and then see who comes out on top at the end of it. Since that's all most people seem to care about.
:facepalm

mj would win the majority of the time on fundamentals and iq alone. the man has a million moves in his arsenal and he uses them until he gets an open shot.
lebron is great, no doubt, but there's plenty of others who qualify for mj vs. ______ more than lebron james does.

Re: Magic and Skip say Jordan would beat Lebron 10 out of 10 one v one
Theres a great article on ESPN on Jordan and his 50th birthday
quotes
The announcers gush about LeBron, mentioning him in the same sentence with Jordan, who hears every word. Those words have an effect on him. He stares at the TV and points out a flaw in LeBron's game.
"I study him," he says.
When LeBron goes right, he usually drives; when he goes left, he usually shoots a jumper. It has to do with his mechanics and how he loads the ball for release. "So if I have to guard him," Jordan says, "I'm gonna push him left so nine times out of 10, he's gonna shoot a jump shot. If he goes right, he's going to the hole and I can't stop him. So I ain't letting him go right."
For the rest of the game, when LeBron gets the ball and starts his move, Jordan will call out some variation of "drive" or "shoot." It's not just LeBron. He sees fouls the officials miss, and the replays prove him right. When someone shoots, he knows immediately whether it's going in. He calls out what guys are going to do before they do it, more plugged into the flow of the game than some of the players on the court. He's answering texts, buried in his phone, when the play-by-play guy announces a LeBron jump shot. Without looking up, Jordan says, "Left?"

b). 1 on 1 is completely different to 5 on 5 and 5 on 5 is what actually matters.
c). No one actually knows who would win
