Welcome back T-Mac!
why is everyone making such a big deal out of this? when was the last time tmac was relevant? he wasnt even considered one of the best players in the chinese league...
Since when is losing against OKC considered an upset?
Probably because they had a 20+ game winning streak, a 2-0 lead and HCA. But naaa, it wasn't an upset.
Will the first round curse finally be broken?
houston won in the first round in 2009 with t-mac on the roster. he didn't play due to injury.
this is pretty awesome to see
Most likeable superstar?
Since when is losing against OKC considered an upset?
yet this is coming from the same guy who thinks Dallas beating an even younger, less experienced, and lower seeded OKC team in 2011 was some sort of miracle.
Anyways, I'm indifferent on the T-Mac signing. It entirely depends on him, what kind of role he's looking to take and how much he has "left in the tank". I do wonder what the Spurs see in him.

It's a big deal because once upon a time he showed the potential to be an all-time great, and he gained a ton of fans along the way. In the early 2000s he was viewed by many as a taller, more gifted version of Kobe.
I'm just hoping for the highly unlikely event in which TMac suddenly re-visits peak mode, averages 25ppg and leads to Spurs to the finals, only to lose to the Heat in 7.

You should not be indifferent as a Spurs fan. It is a big deal because T-Mac is going to wreak havoc on the Spurs when he isn't given a starting role and major create drama and chemistry issues. One thing is for sure, T-Mac is going to want his minutes. He wants to prove that he can still match up against Kobe. The Lakers chances of beating the Spurs just went up.
Too bad for Spurs, a guaranteed first round exit now. Oh wait a sec, theres a possibility Mcgrady wont play a minute in the series, thats their one and only chance to survive!
he wasnt even considered one of the best players in the chinese league...
To be fair, he wasn't bad individually. He played for the CBA's equivalent to the Bobcats.
Okay, the "Spurs will be first round exits this year" was funny for the first couple posts. Now everyone is saying it on every single page and it's lost its humor.
If this were Twitter, I'd end with:

But since this is ISH, I'll end with:
OP is a faggot.
Don't see what the problem is. He's better than what they had at SF which is nobody - much better than seeing Bonner start at the 3 (as he did last night).
If he can contribute as Glenn Robinson did as a very late signing (2005), I'll be happy. Just spell Leonard for 8 minutes while Manu comes back. Low risk/high reward - who better could they get that's playoff eligible and has NBA experience. He'll be motivated to prove himself in whatever minutes he does get. Now hopefully Spurs fans don't get to see Bonner/Manu/Green at SF.
wow just wow, T-Mac is back in da league? He will finally get out of the first round with the Spurs?! mindblown.
Inb4 the Lakers pick up AI.
THE ORLANDO CONNECTION HAPPENED AFTER ALL! TMAC DUNCAN SHALL NOT BE DENIED! :oldlol:
First Round...BUSTED!!!
To be fair, he wasn't bad individually. He played for the CBA's equivalent to the Bobcats.
To be fair, the same team went 16-16 without him the year before, with basically the same roster. They just added T-Mac and they ended up the worst team in the league, going 8-24.
To be fair, T-Mac made an average team into a terrible one.
To be fair, he made his team much worse.
Mr. Bad Omen In Da House!!

I was going to write the same. It's lame.

To be fair, you're a moron who nobody believes about anything basketball related, and you've never seen one full game that TMac had played in China. Shut up.
inb4 Tmac drops 13 in 30 seconds on the Lakers in an eliminating game. Laker fans suicide watch. TMac wet stroke won't be denied.

Why did he get an offer from PAOK if he's so bad?
F#@ken Popovitch. Now he's got 6 more fouls to give Howard in the 3rd quarter.

As far as I know, the Qingdao Eagles have been a terrible team since their inception. I found records back to '08 and 16-16 is their best finish. They even sucked that season; Lester Hudson gunned them to some victories shooting (literally) 15 threes per game, but they weren't good. If I remember correctly they lost their best big man that offseason and replaced him with DJ Mbenga, who played absolutely awful in the T-Mac season.

Like I said, they had the same team last year as this year, except they replaced Hudson with T-Mac.
The result was they went from 16-16 the year before with Hudson, to 8-24 this year with T-Mac.

No... I'm pretty sure they lost their second-best player and replaced him with DJ Mbenga. And don't even act like you know anything about the Chinese players on the roster and whether or not there was significant player movement on that front. :oldlol:
I swear, you'd argue that 2+2 doesn't = 4. :oldlol:

What were the other teams' roster changes like? Don't they switch players pretty regularly? Other teams could have gotten better.
Either way, T-Mac's the one out of CBA that the Spurs want.

TMac:bowdown:
Will be interesting to see what he does. Hopefully they sign him for next season also..
Wow that's a relief. I thought the release of Jacko meant the spurs were playing going to play at least 2 PGs at the same time for at half of the game or increase the minutes of leonard significantly. Whether or not he can still be serviceable backup SF remains to be seen, but it's good enough to know that the spurs have a backup SF.
