Can Phil's goal be enough to hold on to this and force a game 7 ?
:D
Bruins definitely don't help their own cause, but I give major props to Toronto here. Your guys are playing balls-out hockey that's a real pleasure to watch. This is why the Stanley Cup Playoffs > all other playoffs.
Reimer's shutout bid foiled again, but I'll take the win !
Bring on Game 7.
This is why the Stanley Cup Playoffs > all other playoffs.
Definitely.
Every single team that makes the Stanley Cup playoffs has a shot at the cup.
Can Boston lose game 7 on home ice 2 years in a row?
High paced game so far
Can Boston lose game 7 on home ice 2 years in a row?
Absolutely. If it does happen, Claude Julien and Peter Chiarelli had better be gone.
Absolutely. If it does happen, Claude Julien and Peter Chiarelli had better be gone.
I don't see how he wouldn't be fired. Last year, they lose 1st round as a 2nd seed. If they lose game 7 now, they would have blown a 3-1 lead.
3 of the 4 second round matchups are set:
Blackhawks/Red Wings
Kings/Sharks
Pens/Sens
The two winners from the other game 7s will play each other. So these are the possibilities:
Caps/Bruins
Caps/Leafs
Bruins/Rangers
Leafs/Rangers

We only won a Cup because Tim Thomas turned in an all-time GOAT string of efforts in goal. We won that Cup despite Claude's system hockey, not because of it and I'll tell you this, too...Tuuka Rask is the last guy I blame for this because he's been as solid as you could ask him to be.
Cam has no choice but to drop Julien if we can't win this. Jagr with Peverly and Kelly while Seguin is out there doing nothing at all on a Top 2 line? Splitting Chara and Seidenberg for any reason at all? Just a few of the adjustments that Claude should have made by now and he refuses to.
4-1 lead in the 3rd... it's going to be nuts in Toronto if we can hold this off, which we should.
Damn, that's just what the Bruins needed... going to be in our own zone for the rest of the game now. :oldlol:
Many thousands of :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm tonight. Claude might as well not bother showing up for work and if Chiarelli doesn't start clearing some of these contracts out soon, Cam needs to cross-check him out a fourth story window. This isn't disappointing so much as its truly infuriating.
Three games of garbage effort by the Bruins, three games of hard-nosed, well-played playoff hockey from the Leafs. Your team and your fans deserve this.
Also, every Bruins fan who shit on Kessel? Eat it.
What the holy shit?!
Nothing but props for the Bruins.
Leafs blowing a 2 goal lead and losing in OT is bad enough but now blow a 3 goal lead . :facepalm
My heart honestly just skipped a beat on that rebound.
I'm with a friend right now watching this game and he was just telling me how many people on his facebook were saying "so do we face in the 2nd round New York or Washington". :facepalm
I knew this lead wasn't safe whatsoever and dumbass Leaf fans are pre celebrating.
My heart honestly just skipped a beat on that rebound.
Same here.
Won't be surprised if this OT won't last long in Boston's favor.
That comeback may have saved Julien's job.
That comeback may have saved Julien's job.
I'm not buying it. Without Tuuka Rask, we lose this series. Time for Claude to go.
Boston wins.
Unreal. No idea how we get past the Rangers...Lundqvist is such a beast.
Claude, you're still fired.
Kessel, you made mouthy Boston homers eat a ton of shit by being great in this series. Good on you, dude.
Toronto fans, holy shit. Great series and I hope we can do it again next playoffs.
Well, I predicted this OT wasn't going to last long. Leafs were shook and turn the puck over way too much.
I guess this Kessell/Seguin comparison is going to continue, unfortunately.
damn i really wanted the leafs to win, what a great game though.
Since the Rangers are going to win, shall we add up the points?

Thanks, man.
It's a learning experience. They probably need to add more bulk on their defense. I was actually still surprised to see a lot of Leaf fans positive about something in a long time. :ohwell:
I wouldn't mind matching up with Boston again, but damn, this team has just controlled us so many times. Even though it went 7 games, I NEVER felt safe with any of our leads.
Oh, Chris Kelly's elbow to JVR should be looked at too. That's suspension written all over it.
damn
What a heartbreaking loss! But nothing unusual for those who have been following the Leafs for years. Oh well, there's always next year. :facepalm
I was at Maple Leafs Square last night. Such a fun experience...but I may have jinxed it all. A few minutes after it was 4-1 I finally decided to take the pee I was holding in for the entire game, but because of the way the sections were barricaded, I had to leave to the very back (was close to the front) to take a piss in a parking lot a couple blocks back. Boston scored the 2nd goal as a I was walking away and I told my buddy I probably just lost the game for the Leafs (lol). So now we are at the back portion of the huge crowd and we all watch Boston score two more to tie it. I walk to a friend's condo during the intermission and get there in time to see the Leafs lose in OT.
Shoulda held my piss in.
ps...they did provide porta potties for the main front area, but the line was crazy so there were other sections along the side, which had just as good of a view, but no washrooms. Once you leave to the back, you can't get back in.
Not a big hockey fan, but it was such a great atmosphere....glad I didn't stay for the OT though...oh and to half of the fans there...this is why you don't chant "hey hey good bye" with 8 minutes left. Half the crowd was telling them to shut up and they other half was like "they game's over, who cares." lol
More OT.
I think I've had my fill of the Jagr experiment. He tripped Seguin to get at the puck on that last power play of regulation. Coupled with stealing the puck from Peverly's stick in game 5 against Toronto, I'm all set with him after this.
Good to see the Sharks back to their old ways.
John Tortorella has been fired as a head coach of NY Rangers today.
It is unfortunate that it is not all his fault that the Rangers couldn't go any further since his star goal scorers just didn't score, but somebody has to take the blame.
He lost total control of that team. Between '12 and this year, no reason one of those teams couldn't go to the Finals.
Anyway, I had Boston/Pittsburgh and Anaheim/Los Angeles in the CF. At least 3 of them are in it. :oldlol:
I hope canucks grab John tortorella. Put those boys in place.
It's pretty crazy that the last 4 Stanley Cup winners are now all in their respective 2013 Conference Finals.
Maybe the NHL doesn't have that much parity after all. :D
I hope canucks grab John tortorella. Put those boys in place.
He'll tell them they have to lay down in front of pucks and I'm pretty sure the Sedin sisters will quit the League shortly thereafter :lol
Meanwhile, my boy Tuukka tonight
The Blackhawks will win the championship
I hope canucks grab John tortorella. Put those girls in place.
fixed.
Great start for the B's :applause:
Can't fall asleep here, though. Keep the foot on the gas for 45 more minutes.
Domination
Penguins got bent over. Plain and simple.
