This should be a really good series, a final matchup we never saw. Both teams were at their best these years.

Yeah I said I was gone for vacation and would return. Not going to quit on this period. After this matchup I will have wrapped up most of the 2nd round matchups (4 will remain) and will probably take a break before the sweet 16 (giving you time to catchup)

Huge SHOWDOWN in the Sweet 16 Round between the 2004 Detroit Pistons and 2006 Miami Heat. So far all champions advanced to the Sweet 16 so no champion has been eliminated. Of course that will end here. Both these teams were great in real-life and have impressed so far in the sim. Tough to say who will win.

Amazing series :applause:
Blazers choke again :facepalm
Only Portland would give up a 3-0 lead... I always thought those two were comparable teams, the early-00's Blazers and mid-00's Pacers. Both certainly good enough to win it all, balanced team top to bottom, no real superstars but first options who could play like one (JO and Sheed), former superstars on their last leg (Pip and Miller), great coaches on sideline, and zero Finals appearances.

Preview: The 2000 Lakers finished with a 67-15 record, the best seen in the entire decade. Definitely making them worthy of a #1 seed in this tournament. The playoffs weren't as easy, but they made it through eventually winning the championship. O'Neal was at his peak and maybe the best player in this entire tournament. Kobe was an all-star but not quite in his prime yet. Nonetheless, they had Rice who was probably the best role-player they had in their 1st 3-peat and could make up for Kobe not being at in his prime yet.

Preview: The 2004 Detroit Pistons went 54-28 and stunned the world defeating the Lakers for the championship. They really improved as a team once they acquired Rasheed Wallace. The Pistons were a very dominant defensive team, arguably the best defensive team in this tournament. Anyone facing this team knows it will not be an easy series.
The 2006 Miami Heat went 52-30 in the regular season and then won the NBA Championship. They are the last and lowest seed of all the NBA champions: A 3 seed. That though tells them they have a point to make. They are led by the duo of Wade & O’Neal, one of the best duos we saw in the 00s. Besides for these 2 they had many good veteran role-players. Ultimately they are champions so they will be tough to beat.
A huge showdown here. The 2004 NBA Champions Detroit Pistons vs. The 2006 NBA Champions Miami Heat. The Pistons have not had too much trouble the 1st 2 rounds, they won both series in 6 and did it through tough defense. In Round 1 they focused on stopping Melo and held him to 33.9% shooting, while in Round 2 they focused in stopping Dirk and held him to 31.7% shooting. This round they will have to focus on both Wade and Shaq. So far O’Neal has led the way for Miami as he averaged 26/12 last series and as they defeated one of the stronger teams 2007 Phoenix Suns in 6 games. The Heat so have proven themselves to be able to beat strong teams, but the Pistons will easily be their biggest challenge thus far.
The matchup we all have been waiting for, I expect it to be a good series
