LOL at all these idiots condoning steroid and PED use. :lol
:facepalm how can you compare a pic of a guy at 16 to when he's like 28:lol :facepalm I swear some people on here have never stepped foot inside a gym, maybe even never leave there nerd stations..
I'd say the majority of athletes are on PEDs now, and they start a lot younger now..
What city was this clinic located in again?
New York
Can't you see Melo taking full advantage:
I hear what you're saying. I cant argue otherwise or really disagree that it could raise suspicion. I guess my point is I wouldnt care if someone like Kobe cheated to get back on the court faster after suffering an injury. I dont know enough about PEDs, HGH and so forth to go any deeper. Which is why I would like outside the lines or someone to attempt to educate the ignorant fan like myself. I dont look at an athlete different or lesser if they found ways to recover faster.
Well, I'll try to explain some stuff quickly just to give you an idea. The main thing about PEDs (like for basketball or baseball or football not running or cycling) is quick recovery. Meaning that you can get stronger quicker because you can recover faster. So instead of working a muscle group once a week you can now work that same muscle group three times a week or whatever. So that the PEDs don't make you ripped or bulky but if you wanna do that you can do it easier and much faster. Some athletes use it for recovery just from a normal routine. Say if you did plyos twice a week to improve your lateral quickness and vertical leap. Well now you can do them four times a week and see much greater improvements. You don't have to lift or look bulky. It's nothing like that at all. Of course you can do that if you want to. So you can use them to aid in your recovery from a workout or from an injury. The thought is this. When you are on the level of being in the NBA or NFL or professional cycling or running etc, that at the top, the talent level is essentially the same. So you have to look for that extra to separate you from the next guy. The only thing is that most of them are doing it so the playing field is actually almost leveled. Like what Armstrong said about cycling. If all of the top riders are doing it then you have to do it in order to compete. That's how you know when people are cheating. If a great sprinter gets busted like Tyson Gay just did and Asafa Powell as well then you know that it's a pretty safe bet that anyone who has run as fast as them or faster is on something. Why do you know that? Because if you are cheating and you're running a 9.7 and someone is running a 9.5 there is no way that they can be clean and beat a cheater. It's just not possible. That's how everyone with a brain always knew armstrong was doping. So many other top riders had gotten busted for doping that it would be impossible to believe that someone clean could somehow be superhuman and be able to beat all the dopers. It's not possible. So anyway back to basketball. A guy Kobe's age coming back from an injury that is so devastating and coming back so early is a huge red flag. It just doesn't add up. In addition, the league doesn't test for HGH so there's no incentive not to use it. Baseball doesn't test for it yet so everyone in baseball is still juiced to the gills. Guys like Wade and Howard and LBJ are suspicious to me outwardly because of their appearance. And if you see someone in their late 20's or 30's getting braces that is another red flag. But there are plenty of guys you would never suspect (because of his physique) like Rashard Lewis. The bottom line is this. There are literally millions of dollars at stake and if PEDs were standing in the way of you and millions of dollars what would you do? You'd take them because if you didn't, the next guy will. Also, the league (like all other leagues) wants to turn a blind eye to it because the more explosive and exciting the product is the more revenue there will be. Look at the era w McGuire and Sosa and Bonds. Guys were crushing HRs and they looked like body builders. You literally had to be a blind moron not to know that they were juicing and the league acted shocked when all of this came to light. It was bs. Those years were great for baseball and got a lot of people back into the sport who were pissed off about the strike.
Excellent post!:applause:

So many people already calling out names like they know something about it. Quite sad how no one wants to believe these guys attain their physiques, stamina, explosion through hard work and through thorough work ethic. Until someone is identified and punished from the league (like Rashard and Hedo), I see no reason to call their names like you actually know they have done PEDs. You're just assuming so because you hate their game.
Explain then idiot
The poster that he was responding to said, and I'm paraphrasing, "if Lebron's using, then he'd have to have been using since 16, and no one knew about it."
To me, that sounds like Lebron was just as beastly at 16 as he is now, relative to age.
Magic 32 posts a pic of a 16 year old Lebron, and it looks like a normal, athletic 16 year old kid that plays basketball. Not some beastly kid that looks like he's on roids.
How you guys didn't get the reference, I don't know.
Again. Why I called you guys dense.
LOL at all these idiots condoning steroid and PED use. :lol
Funny isn't it? Has even a hint of something to do with Lebron, and its all good, JUST IN CASE Lebron gets popped.
Let this even hint towards Rose, and these flea bags are blowing this thread through the roof.

Lebron at 16 had a NBA ready beady. 6'8 and 240. He even still looked skinny. It's weird that normal people get so huge after high school without using steroids, but we question it happens to NBA players.
Do any of you remember how you looked at 16, compared to now. I was 5'1 95 pounds on my license picture and now I'm 5'8 158. It is just normal for people to become huge. Same with college...I am so much bigger now than what I was after my freshmen and sophomore year of college. Junior year is when I really got my 'adult' body.
Biogenesis was in Miami, right? Hmmmm......
Appreciate the post Chocoate Thunder (typing that name makes
Me feel awkward now lol)
Tikiya, Tahitian treat. I didn't follow the line of posts. I saw him reply with two photos and implying he was using.

I completely understand this, but if you're going to mention a 16 year old lebron, and saying that he looked like a roid head back then, then I'd expect a 16 year old that looks unnaturally fit.
Hence, why magic posted those pics. You guys still aren't getting this?

Even if you juice you have to work very hard, "all" these guys juice, you just have to use common sense while being some what informed.
These guys plays 82 games in the regular season while traveling all over the country, recovery is king.
Probably around 90% of NBA players use or have used in order to grov more in high school and college. And I know you want to say that it has to be proved ie them getting caught and so on, but the NBA does not test for it.
You are in denial if you can't see it, in a sport where size is a great attribute and somebody tells a high school player about the effects of this drug while mentioning side effects like bigger hands(!!!), he can't help but want it.

Rose has more estrogen in his system than most 15 year old girls. We don't ever have to worry about him on roids.

Other people have said this, but these NBA players are playing for multi million dollar contracts and endorsements. I would be surprised if players were NOT pushing the boundaries of what's "allowed" and what is not. And "pushing the boundaries" typically means straying into a "gray" area. Do I think NBA athletes are taking things that are illegal? Not necessarily. But they are (should be) 100% taking all allowed substances to help their performance, as well as the substances that are in that "gray area".
With stakes that high, I would do it. And you would too.
However, I'm not condoning athletes using anything on the "banned" list. Just saying that if it's not on the "banned" list, no matter how closely it resembles a substance that is on it, then why not do it? You better believe your opponent is doing everything in his power to improve himself and his game.

It's because of all the high profile names who've been busted in other sports, while strongly maintaining their innocence if anyone dared to accuse them. After a while, you just become cynical about anyone being clean. Hell, it turns out Carl Lewis cheated too!
Who's next? Phelps? Bolt? What is it just track/swimming, cycling and baseball players who benefit from this stuff?
This. PED's won't make the ball go in. Skills, on the other hand...
PEDs will give you the energy levels to ensure that you have the legs for an 82 game season though.
It's harder to put the ball in the hole with tired legs, and lower energy levels.

nah its not that you guys are just ignorant. PED's are just part of the game, as they are a part of pretty much every physical professional sport there is out there. Rugby, NBA, tennis, soccer, NFL, baseball, cycling, weightlifting, sprinting (yes usain is on drugs), swimming and most olympic sports.
The point is you can complain all day about it being unfair and unjust but sometimes you just have to accept the reality, PEDS are a part of professional sports, lets not waste time crucifying those who get caught and just drop this phisarde of political correctness and accept that as a professional athlete, there is a very good reason to be taking them.

lebron. thats why d rose hates that ******
No one here knows who's using PEDs. Furthermore, no one has an idea of what kind of PED players are using. A PED can be anything from a stimulant to an anabolic steroid to HGH and everything in between. PEDs are a broad group of drugs/substances used for different reasons. It's idiotic to compare pictures of someone as evidence of PED use. Someone could look like a human ball of Play-doh and be using PEDs. Look at Bartolo Colon. He's twice been caught using PEDs and he looks like he inhales extra large pizzas between innings.
Until we get names, all we're doing here is assuming. Everyone is within their rights to assume but that's all it is. No one but the people who are dealing and using know for sure.

I'm sorry but this is the ultimate political correct cop out answer.
You are right comparing pictures won't do much.
But these are athletes who compete for a lot of money as basketball is one of the best paid sports in the world, ahtletes who play a marathon like schedule in which performing consistently will make you more money than not. And get this, they don't test for it... You can safely assume the vast majority is using, because if they don't then somebody else will.
The drug of choice is growth hormone, it helps you burn fat, get lean, shorten your recovery time(most important as workout time restraints is a big factor during an NBA season), heals and strengthens joints and muscles.
You can write it off as "people are just assuming and nobody knows for sure", but it won't make it any less real, these athletes use in a big way.
I can't blame them for it with the money that's on the line, the schedule they have to play at a level expected of them would be almost impossible without it.
Wait! So did players like Jordan and Stockton use PEDs? Jordan must have been on something.
All the American NBA only fans here keep denying it.................

But it has been said here for a long time, that under the agreement of USA Basketball to play in FIBA and the Olympics, Team USA does NOT get tested for doping by the anti doping agencies of those bodies.
Rather that USA Basketball's OWN TESTING LAB does the tests, not FIBA or the Olympics, unlike other teams which get tested by the anti doping labs of FIBA and the Olympics.
Also, that Team USA's testing results never get released, they just say they passed without releasing the results. Unlike for the teams from other countries, where the test results are released by the anti doping labs of the Olympics and FIBA.

That's literally never discussed on the board. Never. Ill send you a dollar if you can find a topic that says NBA Players are drug free because they pass olympic tests.
Well, guys like Hedo Turkoglu have already been busted. If there are any superstars, expect nothing to surface.
At least we know the WWE is clean.
Funny u mention that
an Entertainment company has stricter testing
than the NFL,NBA,MLB,MLS,Boxing,Tennis,Golf,and MMA
That is really saying something
and then you look at the Olympics, the strictest standardized testing
you have stars, athlets not getting caught for years and decades,
Thats saying something.
When your drug testing is at a set date (NBAs)and
Not Randomized Its very easy to pass
especially if youre not testing for much anyways and players know when theyll be tested and by whom
Even the Olympics,US tests US players, come on
did Armstrong,Lewis,Jones,Gay
not say something while all the contemporaries
and their competition who was not American or wasnt the best
got busted
Come on,
The NBA should follow either Mayweathers
Random,Any time,Any place,Blood,urine,hair sample
Olympic style type drug testing or
WWEs random,multiple times every year,wherever,whenever,
and maybe even follow their punishment rate
1st time-30 days suspension without pay,
2nd-60 days suspension without pay
3rd time-terminated,lose rest of pay, cant come back for at least a year
These two would really clean up the league, especially if the punishments are so severe and the tests are random and done multiple times a year
Rashard Lewis got busted and so did Turkoglu and
they had light punishments
10 games is nothing
Go 30 days,60 days
thats basically anywhere from 13-20 games to
30-45 games
two months is massive
They get caught in Oct
theyre 1st game is in late dec or next year
get caught after all star break
and two months and you miss almost all the games left
