Luol Deng rejected a 3 year, $30 million extension with Bulls last week, league source tells Yahoo. Turned out to be prelude to trade.
good job cavs....overpaid to trade him...now overpay him in the summer
How is Deng worth more than that?:confusedshrug:
space the floor for kyrie and waiters. meaning gasol will attract more defense towards him in the low post, so teams will either have to come off kyrie and waiters a bit, or allow pau to go 1 on 1 with his defender every time. and a healthy pau is still pretty damn good in the post. you really couldnt put that together on your own?
There's a difference between attracting attention in the post, and spacing the floor.
Cavs also get exponentially worst in half court and transition defense with Pau starting in their starting lineup. Exponentially.
And lastly, the Cavs are stuffed at the 4/5 position, and thin at the 3. And while I think they gave up too much for a rental, Deng fills a need MUCH more than Pau.
Why do I think Deng is a half year rental? Because unless Grant is willing to pay him, he's dipping for that money:

aye man ask him & his agent
A 6th seed playoff team traded their leading scorer for money and protected picks.
Go East!
Wow, good trade for the Cavs I think, props to being sick of tanking and doing something about it. There's no reason this team can't finish fairly high in the East, they lack size but that doesn't really matter at this point.
Wow Chicago. Really?
good trade for both sides. cavs get the extra help they need in order to make a push into the playoffs while the bulls cheap fo saves the money they want to save while getting better at tanking
I think this is good. Chicago's run was done. Rose has been injured for 2 years now, Deng has been injured on and off, Noah, Boozer etc all have faced injuries. This team was never going to get itself together all healthy and primed for a championship run. In my opinion, even if they did, they still wouldn't beat Miami. Blow it up now, get some picks, make some trades. Shake it up a little and get rid of the terrible contracts if possible.

Lottery wheel is looking more and more like a possibility.
whaaaaat. cavs got jobbed...

Have been told Luol Deng's reps wanted $15-16 million/season. Trade now gives Bulls time to waive Bynum before his deal is full guaranteed.
:biggums:
Hes most likely getting waived. This is a cap saving move. And they grabbed a draft pick apparently.
Please say it isn't so :(

What team in their right mind would pay Deng 15 a year?
Time for Bynum to retire if he gets cut by the Bulls. Dude has no heart to be a basketball player.

This improves Cavs dramatically.
Anyone know what Bulls got back>?

3 picks: 1 1st rounder, 2 2nd rounders and the 1st rounder is top 10 protected
Rt: "@Derrickrose: itz all Good. Me nd Da Homie Bynum finna tear the league up"
You mean, Tear ligaments, Derrick, you guys will tear those, in your knees
Is that nathanjizzle?
Wow Chicago. Really?
Best thing they did.
I'm worried about losing a draft pick though...We must be getting something decent back.

We are loaded with picks now
What team in their right mind would pay Deng 15 a year?
Cavs would just to keep him. But the moment he drinks the water he will suck.
am i the only one who thinks that the cavs made a bad trade?
Is Chicago going to waive Bynum?
they should
Now what happens with Waiters?
I kinda liked the idea of having Bynum and Noah start together. If Bynum could stay healthy and keep his head on straight.
Rebuild time for the bulls... damn that kinda hurts..
The worst place for Bynum if he wants to protect those brittle knees :lol
Loving those draft picks we got though.
We got some real value out of trading Deng, when we could of lost him in the offseason.
am i the only one who thinks that the cavs made a bad trade?
Cleveland got robbed
Chicago was going to let deng walk for the amount of money he was asking for
They now got draft picks out of it I don't think their significantly worse with butler at the 3?
Now what happens with Waiters?
I'd say they will look to trade the second part before the deadline.
I was hoping Chicago might of got him too :D
Reckon Cleveland moves Waiters now?
What happens with Waiters now?
nothing...The Cavs can stop playing 3 gaurds with Waiters at the 3 now. I hated that crap. Waiters isn't getting traded he's to much of a stud.
Now what happens with Waiters?
what do u mean?
Will Chicago waive Bynum?
Yea great trade by the bulls!
