Ok.

What?
I'm gonna buy it anyway, I'm going to enjoy it regardless of the reviews. The one I enjoyed the least of revelations and I still had fun with it, this can't be worse.
Revelations was a great game imo. For me, it goes:
II
Brotherhood
Revelations
IV
I
III

Almost the same.
I contradicted myself and said I liked Revelations the least, but I actually like it more than I obviously because it's much more expansive, and I just didn't like III.
Any news on the bugs? I hear the final product has been a total incomplete bug fest. Please chime in fellas...

I've seen a couple wonky things. Trying to loot while your sword is still drawn yields this rediculous wagging the sword around and a machine gun whipping sound.
I'm still not that far. Just chewing up viewpoints and chests.
Just finished sequence 9, my main gripe is how janky the free running can get, I've had like two frame rate issues. Story is pretty good, I like the customisation but I'm have trouble making money to buy anything. But now I have lockpick lvl 3 and now I'm gonna start getting all the chests.
Really like the rift levels, which only reinforces the fact that they need to make a WWII game.
Can anyone explain to me how the nomad chests work and such?

Yeah, I really haven't gone through any of the sequences yet. I've mostly been hunting down chests and doing some side stuff, tracking down all the viewpoints. I've spent my money upgrading the theatre, which is now yielding some money. And I've spent a bit on bypassing some of the lesser weapons and just jumping to the best of the mid tier weapons.
I've tracked down Nomad Points on the map and they just don't accept. And the app they say you need to use (which is something that irritates the hell out of me based just on principal), doesn't seem to exist.
I've also had some juttery framerate issue in a few spots. There's definitely some pop in of NPCs if you're moving fast. I also seemed to climb down the inside of a wall last night only to pop back to the outside near the bottom.
My thoughts after finishing 4.5 sequences.

-Free running (not sure why shaqtus doesn't like it)
-Combat difficulty (I've been wanting something like this forever)
-Leveling up
-Story so far
-Looks beautiful
-Rift levels (I've only played the first one but it reminds me of the dream sequences in Arkham series)
Dislikes:
-Extragame activities being tied to important things like getting different robes (Initiates, companion app stuff)
-Framerate issues pop up randomly but are far and few in between
-Game freezes. Happened to me twice on the same day but never since.
-Got stuck in the theater while watching a play. Had to fast travel to get out of it.
-Modern day story is VERY lackluster.

Don't you need some more skills in order to loot some chests? And you only get those skills after sequences 2 and 5.

I got through Sequence Two. I'm going after all the white chests, many of which now seem to be locked behind doors that I can't get behind. But for the most part I'm picking them up as I hit viewpoints. That's my goal as I go. And I do whatever other side missions I stumble across too. Along with picking up the random event stuff. I've tackled an awfull lot of purse thieves.

Oh yeah, that ****s awesome. Soooo much better than chasing the Borgia couriers who could magically run and climb as good as Ezio.

I finally hit all the Viewpoints. I've completely renovated The Theatre, and I have about 12K in cash still at the moment. And another 10K in Creed Points. I still haven't started Sequence 3, but it's time to start really playing now.
I agree with your list completely, at least from what I've played so far. It really aggravates me with the non-game stuff tied in.

It's not so bad now, just had to get used to it.
I also upgraded my lockpick all the way, otherwise those chests are damn near impossible to open which is really annoying. My belt only holds 5 lockpicks and I usually go through 2 picks on the 3 lock chests.
For the cafe theatres how do they yield more money? I've bought every single one, and renovated the main one all the way, yet my yield money is still really low.

That's a lot of cash. I'm basically mission to mission right now, as in I only refill consumables when I get mission completion cash, so I never have more than 1500 in my pocket. What would you say was the most profitable activity?
Actually that's another thing I like about this game, cash is not easy to come by, and the only way you can get certain consumables is by buying them. This adds a layer of difficulty we never had before.
Anyway, finished sequence 5 last night. I'm liking Arno more and more as the game progresses. Seems to have a Nathan Drake type personality.
I also did my first co-op mission last night with a coworker. Basically, all those missions that say 4 players max, it doesn't mean you can play them with 2 apparently. So when my friend and I joined it hooked us up with 2 randoms. This was a good thing because the mission would've been too long without them. I was a bit confused at first with regards to what the goal was but I also had a 4 month old baby trying to get my attention, so yeah. But it was fun. The eagle vision as modified in Black Flag REALLY comes in handy here. At one point I was stuck trying to battle 7 guards while not having great melee stats, and I'm like where the **** is everybody else? So I turn on the eagle vision and see all of them are in the next building over actually doing the mission. Whoops. So I hightailed it out of there. I got enough creed points by finishing this and sequence 5 to upgrade my health and get double air assassination.
Also, though I had to quit the game after the co-op, it looks like you can roam Paris with your friends. So you don't join a co-op mission and then your friends join you, rather you join them on the streets and then go look for missions.
Really fun. Can't wait to get back on and do the heist missions. Are there still people in this thread waiting to see how this turns out? I'd say from what I've seen so far, this game is worth the $. And if you find a great deal on black Friday, it'd be stupid not to get it for someone that likes AC. Just ignore the critics on this one IMO.

You must be pretty far into the game to be able to buy that. Isn't that shit incredibly expensive? Or can you get creed points by doing other stuff?
Also, didn't realize there were other cafe theaters.
Ordered it from gamefly since I got a free trial. Your reviews pushed me to do it.:oldlol: Might be the type of AC game that really only appeals to the hardcore AC players (like Revelations). Looks like it brought back my other least favorite aspect of the games (after the stupid bombs) the lock picking shit. :facepalm

Going from viewpoint to viewpoint, I seemingly checked on every white chest out there, and the majority of the red ones, even though most I couldn't open yet. That's probably where most of my money came from.
I didn't spend much of anything on equipment yet. I have the best of the mid range swords, it was about 5K. And I bought a belt for about the same price range that allows me to carry way more gear. I can carry 19 lock picks I think.
Other than that I dumped all my money into the theatre, which is now yielding me I wanna say 750 bucks every couple of hours.
Most of my creed points went toward my health, but I seem to be at a point where I can't upgrade anything in spite of all the points, I think because I really need to do some missions. I seemed to get most of them by doing random events, hitting viewpoints, cutting out alarm bells, tackling thieves and the like. I know I'm up to completing 40 public events now, like the tackling and killing thieves. And that went up by fives and I got creed points for every list I completed. The last list yielded a lot of money and creed points.
I also did solved two of the symbol riddle things. That yielded creed points. And did a bunch of the theatre missions and some of the other side mission stuff that was rated at two stars or less. My guy is still at one star.
How many stars do you guys rate out at at this point?
And has anyone used the stupid app?
I finally found it today, and it prompted me to use WiFi to download it because it's so big. I really don't want an app that big on my phone. So I figured I'd pull it down on my tablet when I get home. I really just want to open the stupid blue chests. I've collected a handfull of those Nomad points, and they seem to do nothing, and at least one of them just won't collect even when I'm standing right on it.
I've also gotten over 50 of those cockades by the way, and that yielded a good amount of Creed Points. My thinking is that when I start moving through the story, I'll be able to upgrade in big chunks since I've gotten such a big head start on the collectables.

Thanks for that. I need to go hunting for these things cuz I is broke.
I think the star rating is dependent on the storyline. My rank went up to 2 stars after sequence 5. I'm a soldier now.

I got upgraded to soldier last night too, but my star ranking stayed at one ... at least I think it did.
My sister said this is her favourite Assassin's Creed game. That and II.
Am I missing out on Unity cuz i'm playing Rogue.

Assassin rank must be independent of the star rating. Maybe it's story dependent, which makes little sense to me.

I'm not even halfway through so I can't rank it yet, but there are certain things this game really gets right for the first time ever. I love the mission designs so far. I just did a mission in sequence 6 that had a lot of framerate issues, but the actual mission was awesome and required a lot of planning. There seem to be more than one way to do things as you get further into the game, in this sense the missions remind me of older Splinter Cell games.
PS: Upgrade the hell out of your lockpicking skill before starting the first sequence 6 mission. It'll make things a LOT easier.
Am I missing out on Unity cuz i'm playing Rogue.
I would say you're doing it the right way. I am planning on buying Rogue on black friday if I can, but it's going to be excruciating to play a reskin of Black Flag after this.
ok. ive seen some mixed reviews about unity. but rogue has been great so far, grenade launcher ftw. :dancin
On that same Rogue note, apparently it's getting great reviews. And since it serves as a sequel to Black Flag I'm definitely gonna get it sooner rather than later probably.
Got my unity copy this morning. instead of just repeating all the bad parts of the game that I got and everyone else, I gotta say this story is starting out as really really interesting. I'm definitely feeling the story, and that's the only reason why I'm still playing it. I also might be the only person who doesn't like the new combat system. I'll give it some time since I don't have all the weapons yet, but my initial impressions are negative.
I'm also really glad they decided to scrap the universal camera idea they were originally gonna implement.
I'm gonna give the game a couple more hours of gameplay. But I'm really not feeling the free running at all. It feels unnatural, and I'm iffy on the combat still even though I have most of the weapons that appear by sequence 4.
The co-op stuff is kind of good, if you have someone to work with. But I went through 2 idiots on my way to completing the Paton mission.
I spent 2 hours last night doing co-op with a buddy. That **** rocks. Some of the missions are very difficult. We tried our hand at a 3 star mission that required 4 players and we got our asses handed to us over and over again until we came up with a proper strategy.
Haven't played any of the main story since I started playing co-op.
Have been doing lots of co-ops with friends. It's much better if you join a party outside the game first. That way you don't stop talking to them during loading screens.
I have been creeping through the storyline as well, and am at the cusp of what should be the last mission. The story is decent so far, with some parallels with AC2 and Black Flag. How far along is everybody else at?
What kinds of weapons you guys using. I got the mid-range mace. Upgraded my gear to have mostly hp perks. Checked out my "what kind of assassin are you" I got "Rioter". Having a lot of fun, unlocking the viewpoints now like the other poster suggested, racking up money a lot faster now. Only a few missions in, mostly doing side quests.

I had focused my money and upgrades from the Assassin Points, and my perks, toward the one handed weapons, so I just saved up until I could buy the best unlocked one handed weapon I could get. It's a thick double sided sword. I don't recall the name of it though. It was like 225K. It's really allowed me to muscle through even the 5 diamond side missions. I think I have 4 more Assassin missions to do and I will have finished all the side missions.

I don't recall the name either but my friend has it. He said it's exactly as good as the one you get after finishing the main story so I didn't bother buying it. I did buy one of the mid-valued pistols and upgraded and it's been a life-saver. I was doing the Political Prisoners co-op mission last night and I had to take out 3 snipers on a tower from far away. I got up on the rooftop of another tower and took 3 headshots without reloading. It was sweet.

I started with mid level stuff, but after that I started pulling down enough money that I began saving for only the highest rated available stuff. I have that sword, the highest rifle I could get, the highest chest, head, foot, belt, and breaches I could get.
But beyond those items I haven't bought anything. I own zero long weapons for example.
I haven't played in a week or so.
