Re: OKC has fired Scott Brooks
If this team hires Thibs they will have an instant change of identity, but they still won't be fixing the problem they've had which is an offense not nearly as sophisticated as it should be with the pieces they have. Is D'Antoni an assistant anywhere? A Thibs-D'Antoni coaching tandem is something people have been calling on for awhile now, yet it never materializes.
As long as OKC isn't running straight up ISO out of dead balls, though, anything will be an improvement.
James Harden traded, Russell Westbrook three knee surgeries, Kevin Durant three foot surgeries....and the answer is firing Scott Brooks?
this nigga scared already:oldlol:
but on the real, hopefully OKC can show some semblance of an offense next season. Before KD got hurt. all him and Westbrook did was take turns shooting

Re: OKC has fired Scott Brooks
About time. Now they just need to nab a coach that keeps Westbrook and Durant.

I'd be hesitant to sign a long contract to play for a coach that hasn't proved himself in the NBA.

Sorry but this MDAxgood defensive coach combo is never going to happen. But i'd love to see MDA in OKC

And when they start missing playoffs who are they gonna blame again? :confusedshrug:
2016 Trade deadline will be interesting...
Westbrook or Durant will be gone for sure.

Finally. Right move that had to be done for OKC. With a good coach and a healthy team next year they can go all the way.

He would be a good assistant coach.

Re: OKC has fired Scott Brooks
That was quick.
The important thing in the hire is going to be getting someone who holds their free agents.

You forget that they have a knucklehead playing as their starting PG. This guy will only listen to himself and only himself. The problem with OKC is Durant's BETANESS not Scott Brooks.
And if this team manages to hire Thibs... they will win a championship next year.
Expect Durant and WB to play 40+ minutes every game then... = more injuries.
OKC would do well to stay away from Thibs. He cares more about the regular season than the playoffs with his rotations.

Finally. 3 years too late but better late than never.
People who said this is a bad decision or Brooks was a good coach are trolling, don't watch the OKC games or are Brooks' relatives.

That would be brutal. Fisher needs to be an assistant for a long time before being allowed another shot at head coach. He wasn't ready.

2015/16 championship cruise.

Re: OKC has fired Scott Brooks
Thibs would be great in OKC.
-
Re: OKC has fired Scott Brooks
The NBA is similar to the NFL when it comes to fired coaches. Once a coach is fired he will
1. Have another job as an assistant coach
2. Have another job as an head coach
So they all look out for each other and the fact that Brooks was a coach for 7 years you know he will have another job with no problem
-
Re: OKC has fired Scott Brooks
Sorry but this MDAxgood defensive coach combo is never going to happen. But i'd love to see MDA in OKC
I realize that, and it's probably because MDA will never take a job as anything other than HC after so many years of being the #1 on the staff. Problem is, if they take him as HC with the addition of Kanter I don't really see them being able to lock things down defensively to get out of the West come playoff time

Brooks always disappointed and never get over the hump with all that talent he had for many years he had Ferrari but could never get it out of the garage.

If you are good enough you can get in, most of them are there because they are really good at what they do. Look at Brad Stevens, I've heard him speak at a coaching seminar and truly believe he will be considered one of the better coaches of all time when it's all said and done.
Another is Mike Budenholzer who played a year in a 2nd tier league while coaching youth teams in damn Denmark:

Re: OKC has fired Scott Brooks
fortunately the ownership finally looked at tape and saw that the Thunder had no offensive plays.
They were killed in all most every playoff series when it counted because if it wasn't a step back three from Durant , Or westbrook playing 1 on 5 , the offense was stagnant.
I have to say yes the PG is responsible for the flow , but the coach was the guy calling 'a' play(s)
They are very good defensive team , but ironically their offense if Durant was scoring and Westbrook each scored 25 + kept them in games.
Brooks will land with another young team , but NEVER a seasoned vet playoff team(.)
Look to see Jackson coming out of the booth and taking the Thunder by the reins.
