Unsure what is going on, you rush out with your daughter to try to escape the impending catastrophe, only to have her shot dead in your arms. You had spent five minutes with the girl, but even as a gamer, you felt crushed, defeated.

You know I love the MGS series. Shit, I would probably put MGS 2, 3, and 5 in my top 10 all time. But TLoU is better written than any of the MGS games. Just because Kojima does the metafiction shit doesn't mean they are better written games. Yes, the MGS series was an innovator too in terms of storytelling in video games, but it's not of the quality of TLoU. Characters, dialogue, and acting are more believable in the Last of Us. And there's no denying MGS has some REALLY stupid shit, like Otacon banging his step mom while his dad drowns himself (:lol), a girl sniper who doesn't wear clothes and doesn't speak (because Kojima is a perv), bullshit explanations for super natural events (nanomachines, parasites), and general plot holes and inconsistencies. Does any of this bother me? Not really. In fact, I actually enjoy the absurdity of it all, but TLoU is almost flawless in terms of writing, character development, etc. Everything that happens is perfectly believable.

I'm not saying it's perfect. Obviously no game is. I know there are rare instance of Ellie running in front of an enemy and some overly scripted gameplay sequences. But the game is intense as **** on higher difficulties when you're constantly low on supplies and ammo. You have to play it on hard difficulty or above with no listen mode to get the full experience. I'm never seen a game that switches so organically between stealth and open combat. The violence is really well done too...not violent in a cartoony way like most games. More like a No Country For Old Men vibe where you cringe because it's so realistically brutal. Every encounter in the game is memorable.

You guys need to chill out a little. We're just talking about video games here :lol

SNES is NOT included on these websites, nor Genesis etc.
Internet wasn't big enough back in the day. These websites collect all the reviews from all the online publications. Obviously they wouldn't have games dating back to the early 90's late 80's.

Games are from gamecube, N64, PS, PS2 days etc.
My point is, there is absolutely no bias between a game made in 2001 and a game made in 2013, like these fan boys are claiming.

I actually like the last of us, I just don't think it's a perfect game but then there are very few if any perfect games. Just because i think something is overrated doesn't mean it can't still be good, in basketball terms I think Lebron is over rated by the mainstream media but at the same time I can happily acknowledge he has been the best player in the NBA at times. I'm actually really excited for the last of us 2 as I am guessing they will fix up the things that I felt were flawed or rushed and improve on the idea as most sequels do.

I'm playing through uncharted 2 remaster at the moment, pumped for uncharted 4 but disappointed because I really could have sworn it was meant to come out this year :( Oh well we have battlefront, fallout and tomb raider coming out soon so that'll keep me busy until christmas.

Timed exclusive I believe so it will flow through to other platforms later. I've got all the current gen consoles at the moment so I'll be picking it up.

Selling my Vita though, that thing was the biggest let down for me. Such a great console tech wise but it really got let down in the games department imo.

Dude, i feel your pain on the release date, but i'm glad they're taking their time and not rushing it for Christmas. Funny thing is, the release date of March lines up perfectly with 2 weeks of annual leave i had already put in for hahaha.

At least it's spread out too but I was really pumped to play uncharted 4 right after the remasters, oh well it'll be something to play in a dryer period release wise and for sales it'll work out well for them not having to compete against the end of year release rush. I hate how everything comes out all at once.

Yeah I've got a 3ds (not a 'new' 3ds yet though which I'll probably pass on if the NX is replacing it). I like the 3ds, it's simple but the games nintendo have gotten for it are more suited to mobile and casual play than a lot of the bigger budget titles sony tried to get on the vita. I just think a handheld home console doesn't work, it needs to be a handheld console with games that vary from a home console offering and designed with casual and portability in mind. Only problem i have with the release date of uncharted 4 is that the division comes out the week earlier.

I bought the new 3ds for Monster Hunter, i wanted the c stick haha. I'm going to hold out and see what the NX delivers before committing this time.

I only played the monster hunter on wii u. Smart idea waiting on the NX, my wii u hasn't been turned on in a very long time.

I'm only waiting on the NX cause i feel a bit cheated. I love my Wii U and it gets played almost every day (Smash Bros) but i feel like the Wii U still had plenty left to give with some more titles/development etc. So i feel a bit cheated that they gave up so quick. Hence why i will wait and see the NX.

PS3 - Modern Warfare 3 & X360 Modern Warfare 3 sold more copies than any Halo title. They combined for over 26 million copies.

Halo hasn't been epic since Halo 3, TBH.
I definitely would put Combat Evolved as a top 10 game of all-time though. I did not like Halo 2 that much; Halo 3 & Reach were good though. But I just think they are extremely repetitive. I can play Reach & then 2 weeks later put Halo 3 in, and I wouldn't know the difference.

I thought Gears was better. Mass Effect was definitely better.
I'm not even going to bring up Batman, Uncharted, MGS; all better titles, IMO.

Heck, I'd say Halo is slightly better than AC.
Halo 1 came out like 15 years ago bruh, give it up.

But for Xbox alone Halo has always been relatively close in sales

Also FPS are the most criticized genre these days

Open world, large world RPGs don't come under that same scrutiny...

MGS is a stealth game... Almost every stealth gets marked high...

Uncharted is good but has anyone ever heard of it? No real world impact

Halo was breaking opening day records

MGS or Uncharted have never had that impact

Games like GTA, Cod and Halo are GOAT tier... But Cod not so much since post black ops

GTA is always good but it is pretty hard to **** up an open world game... Just put an excess of low quality content in there and people are raving. Halo stayed true to itself and never changed it up all that much... Stuck to the basics which is why it is the GOAT FPS console franchise. Other games bring in fancy functions and gadgets.. supplementing for true tactic and gameplay. Halo would maybe bring 1 or 2 new functions to every game... Halo 4 went overboard with the fancy additions and it hurt the game. The simplicity and ease of controls, as a lot of game critics like to say, the barrier between you and the game was non existent. Anyone could pick up a controller and get the hang of it. You criticize Halo for this, everybody else applauds it.
