You are very talented, but talent alone can only take you this much. You've got to learn how to use your skills properly. Once you do, sky is the limit. Until then, you shoot yourself out of the game.
I would just appreciated if he didn't talk out of his a** so often. It's annoying when he voices his opinion on a player or team he doesn't know.

That's what I was referring to when saying GeeWiz thinks he can win over facts with intelligence. This is also the reason why the world fails to admit he is a genius, as he often comes accross as being cocky. I think neither him or Shogon are really cocky, but both of them are a bit frustrated, because they haven't yet learned how to communicate at a level their existing intelligence puts them on. Therefore the world is rude to them when not agreeing with them, all the while they are obviously intelligent. And so on. It's a vicious cycle.
Feedbacks are nice.
Anybody wanna rate me?
Jailblazers 7 is a potential solid pro in the mold of George Lynch, a slow three or undersized four who can give quality minutes in the right system. JBSev has a decent motor, is very coachable, and displays a high basketball IQ.
strengths:
decent range on his jump shot, good first step, nice up and under, good hands, finishes around the hoop, tough on the ball defender and a good feel for the game.
weaknesses:
tweener slow footed 3, undersized 4, not a lot of athleticism, short arms.

Re: OT: Targus's "Rate a Poster" Thread
I appreciate the condescending essay elementally. perhaps you can later adopt me and be my father and give me that **** on a daily basis.
do you people honestly think this is the best I can do? I mean really? like, if my personal reputation was actually on the line I would think so little before I type? no becaues its a message board and I'm not interested in "FEEDBACK."
You also are not very good at admitting that guys inferior to you in the IQ-department may add valuable thoughts to a discussion, too. Pretty often the most interesting arguments come from guys who are not the smartest. Sometime down the road you'll have to incorporate others' thoughts and suggestions into your train of thought. It will make you a lot more wise and intelligent.
that said this is really the only part of your expose I really think is actually wrong. when is the last time an average poster has actually made an interesting argument? half of them are made by Kblaze. then there's WigNosy. DeuceWallaces on OT stuff. Kwajo's creativity and sense of humor. Gobb's endless wit. Loki. those are really the only guys I consider "above me." and NOT coincidentally, those guys are responsible for probably 80% of ISH's greatest moments/posts in the last year or so. show me the average poster who makes the great arguments cause I don't see it. I see good discussion from guys on "my level" (there are about 20-30 of them). sometimes I learn things from these guys. but nothing GREAT. nothing that really challenges me. the great moments come from great posters.
average posters make average posts. the kind of posts that outline facts in a response, I read, go "yep" and move on. sometimes it contains something I didn't know but not often. usually they're valuable for their perspective whatever it might be.
the guys I incorporate into my train of thought are the guys I mentioned above and there's no conicidence that they're the smartest people here.

That sh!t was ****in awesome. :oldlol:
Not that I'm too much into this type of a thing but which NBA player am I? What are my strengths and weaknesses?
Haha, this was awesome, we should all compare ourselves to NBA players like Izzo did. Haha.

Re: OT: Targus's "Rate a Poster" Thread
You never know who the smartest guy here really is. There are people who are not native speakers for instance... :D
On a more serious note, I think the most intelligent poster this board has seen IQ-wise was AlJeffersonRules. And he was a bad poster. Takes noithing away from his IQ.
If you take a close look at your selections BTW, you'll see you listed the OLD giys. kBlaze is like 34, GoBB 35, Loki 28-29, WigNosy over 30... (Before you ask: I'm turning 33 this year, LOL) It's no coincidence. You may add rezznor or Laker Logic to the list. Even Know Itawl.
When I was mentioning the 'average' Joe making interesting observations, I relied on the experience that we all often find that interesting observations are coming from people who see the world differently. And since you are not average, chances are that less intelligent guys will see things differently.
As for smart posters, there are many here, who are not posting that often any more. adamcz, sakF, funkylikemonkey... the list goes on and on. Don't be fooled by the guys talking the most being the most intelligent.

Liberalo is a multi-tool player with a high ceiling and great potential in the mold of a Stephen Jackson. Liberalo plays with a great deal of passion, but this passion can also be his undoing with untimely fouls and a propencity for not acting in his or his team's best interests. A focused Liberalo can give you all star like minutes, but more often than not behavioral issues land him in hot water both internally and with the league.
strengths:
athletic, quick, good motor, nice shooting touch, good feel for the game and a good finisher.
Weaknesses:
occasional erratic play, not very coachable, some off court issues.

Re: OT: Targus's "Rate a Poster" Thread
rate me...
Coming off a stellar four year college career DLeagueWannabe will look to be a late second round pick or sign on with a team as a free agent. With a good showing in Orlando and a solid training camp DLW can hook on with a team but can almost certainly expect a stint in the 'D'. With a consistent jumpshot and ability to run a team DLW reminds scouts of a slighter Jerry MacNamara. To stick with an NBA squad DLW will have to show he can defend elite players (something he struggled with in college).
Strengths:
shooting, passing, basketball IQ, and intensity
Weaknesses:
athleticism, foot work, defense and speed
-

Re: OT: Targus's "Rate a Poster" Thread
Who??
Rate me!
Pro comparisons:
Dale Davis, Antonio Davis, PJ Brown
A solid four with great strength statman32 will in all likelihood have a long NBA career as a starting four. With his ability to play with his back to the basket, statman could be used as a five in an uptempo system. With range out to twenty feet and soft hands statman can become an instant contributor on the offensive end and his ability to block shots makes him a defensive presence. All Star appearances are more than likely during prime years.
strengths;
Interior defense, post play, midrange shooting, hands
weaknesses:
often in foul trouble, doesn't always see the court well or read the double team
-
Re: OT: Targus's "Rate a Poster" Thread
Looking forward to see who will be compared to Arenas  and mine.
-

You remind me of a mixture of Carmelo Anthony and Stephon Marbury. You are the self-proclaimed best. Some nights you can score with the best of them, at others you are a thug who keeps dribbling and freezes out his teammates. Confidence is a great thing, but overconfidence keeps you from achieving greater things. You often don't recognize the team, and tend to put yourself on a pedestal that you are not really on.
Strength: power, scoring ability, talent
Weakness: on the court IQ, selfishness, lack of a team concept
Overall: a few months in the D-League would do you good.
-

AK47
Great overall talent, can fill up the box score but has been absent the last 18 months or so. On the court IQ is your best strength and you can defend with the best of them. Relying on fundamentals, not necessarily a highlight reel, rather the glue that keeps the team going.
-
Re: OT: Targus's "Rate a Poster" Thread
Thanks JtotheIzzo and Elementally Morale. I must say that a mix of Carmelo Anythony and Stephon Marbury would spontaneously combust. That worries me a little. :)

Re: OT: Targus's "Rate a Poster" Thread
I love the fact that Targus is in EVERY one of the "favourite poster" threads, saying stupid **** like "What is this high school? You guys are idiots" or "Who cares if you're popular, this is the internet", and yet he went and made this one. Seriously, check out any favourite poster thread over the last few months, and he'll be in it, saying how stupid it is.
What a moron.

Ill do you.
Jason Kidd
A great player that has lost a step with age but is still tops in the league. You have a great feel for the game, a high basketball IQ, and an above average defender. Your jumper is suspect at times but you are very craft at getting into the lane and setting up teammatses.
Strengths: Intelligence, position defense, vision, rebounding, and leadership
Weakness: Durability, shooting, and diminishing athleticism
