Well makes sense considering medicare, medicaid and social security make up the bulk of the spending budget.
...after attacking other Republicans for potentially doing exactly what he wants to do now, and pledging never to make cuts. And while upping military spending. Makes sense I guess... :confusedshrug:
12 Republicans Voted to Overturn Trump's National Emergency Declaration
In a 59-41 vote, the Senate approved a House passed-resolution to block Trump from funding his border wall without congressional approval. The GOP revolt will force Trump to issue the first veto of his presidency.
The Republican defections present an embarrassment to the White House, which sought to limit the number of senators breaking with their party. Some Republican senators attempted to strike a deal with the White House that could have curbed the number of Republicans breaking with the president, but those talks fell through.
Shortly after the Senate vote, Trump tweeted: "VETO!"
12... and this coming after the vote in the Senate yesterday to reel in US military support for the Saudis in Yemen.
Here are the traitors for today's vote:
Roger Wicker, Mississippi
Marco Rubio, Florida
Rob Portman, Ohio
Susan Collins, Maine
Lisa Murkowski, Alaska
Pat Toomey, Pennsylvania
Roy Blunt, Missouri
Lamar Alexander, Tennessee
Mitt Romney, Utah
Rand Paul, Kentucky
Jerry Moran, Kansas
Mike Lee, Utah
A little surprised to see that Mike Lee voted with the Dems, but his proposal to avert all of this did get shut down by Trump, so there's that.
They are 7 votes shy of overruling the veto. They wont...but im shocked they got THAT many.

I honestly thought they'd get about 6 Republicans at the most to join in, with everyone else staying on home base. There's undoubtedly a growing rift between congressional Republicans and the administration on several key issues. You're right... this veto will stand though.
So what happens next after Trump veto? Trump gets his wall money?

All of the filed lawsuits will likely slow it down. We'll likely get a series of stays on any action.
so what do u guys think about a MOAT being built around the southern us border filled with snakes and alligators to deter off illegal immigration?
or we could build an ELECTRICAL fence with spikes that can pierce human flesh at the very top.
let's get some serious discussion going here.

Anything it takes to send the foreign hordes back.
I still like my idea of a burrito launcher that launches burritos back into Mexico that will surely make them turn around.

But they're going to have to be authentic Mexican burritos. I don't think Chipotle or Moe's burritos will have the same effect.
It's amazing how many Trump supporters sound like Trump.
This is a beautiful conversation. :milton

That shit ain't gonna work. Burritos is a Tex Mex dish, people south of the border don't know what a burrito is. Now if they put tamales, flautas or gorditas, that would get La Raza scrambling.
A federal judge in Texas ruled Friday that President Donald Trump's national emergency declaration to build a border wall is unlawful and appears poised to block the use of those funds.
*Border wall funds blocked
*Lost his appeal to withhold his tax returns
*Rudy's Ukrainian buddies arrested with Rudy possibly going down next
*And the impeachment inquiries are rolling right along with a Fox news poll says a majority wants him impeached and removed
*Betrays the Kurds leading to bipartisan condemnation from both sides of the aisle including some of his most ardent defenders
What a week for Trump. Is this what winning looks like? :oldlol:
