3ball bout to come in and ask why everyone wants pippen...
Since I want another dominant wing player to compliment LeBron, I select '03 Tracy McGrady.
32|7|6 and can provide some 3 point shooting.
F - '04 Kevin Garnett
F - '13 LeBron James
G - '03 Tracy McGrady

:oldlol:
Since I have two dominant personalities already with Chamberlain and Bryant, I will need someone who has the cojones to stand up to them, someone known as the most fundamentally sound player in league history capable of controlling the pace of the game.
Oscar Robertson.
Will decide on a year later.
I'm picking Nash
Ain't no one about to stop that Robinson & Nash pick & roll
I just need some good perimeter defenders to cover for Nash and i'm sorted

With a few more stone cold outside shooters, you'll end up with the ideal small ball lineup.
K boys. I'm just loading up heading for cross country drive. I doubt it will get back to me but I'll check in every once in a while
Are we replacing this guy?
Nah. He's good.
There's 12 more picks before it's his turn again.

Agreed.
After we complete our picks, what happens then? A free for all battle royal? Round Robin tournament?

Not sure, maybe create threads with polls matchup by matchup. Or the participants themselves can judge each matchup? Or the participants can rank each team, excluding their own, the team ranked highest wins.
Just throwing ideas.

We can go with the old format we used in the past for these all-time draft tourneys:
1. Each member explains why he would beat the other team in a 10 team playoff tournament. The rest of us vote on the winner.
2. If there's a tie, we use the whatif sports simulation for best out of 7 matches.
Problems: Not sure about how to seed the 10 spots and how to advance if there's odd number of winners in the second round.
:biggums:
Was seriously considering Walton with my last pick. Good pick.
Bill Walton is the best center to add to a loaded team cuz he can play any style and doesn't need to dominate the ball like many other centers.
If you have a center like Hakeem you must build around him in order to contend effectively - so you'll be forced to draft more shooters than usual.
1987Lakers already won. KG and LeBron? Game over

First pick, I’m gonna give Magic a perfect P&R dunk/layup partner, the Mailman. Karl Malone was deadly in the low post, on the fast break and possesses a solid mid-range jumper, a prolific and durable scorer. Adding more defense, athleticism and strength in my front court, dominating defensive rebounds alongside Bill Russell.
Second pick, I need my shooter. One of the greatest clutch shooters we’ve ever seen: Ray Allen. I needed a shooting guard who won’t dominate the ball, but not just an elite shooter, possessing an impressive all-round game. Jesus Shuttlesworth will create for me exceptional floor spacing on offense, opening up lanes for Magic and Karl Malone.

My idea was having two divisions of 5 teams (everyone ranks the teams 1st to 5th for each division (excluding your own team))
Only Top 4 progress to playoffs.
We then progress to the First Round.
E.g
Division A #1 vs Division B#4
Division A #3 vs Division B#2
And so on...

With Chamberlain, Bryant and Robertson, I have powerful inside scoring, rebounding, and excellent halfcourt offense, as well as isolation scoring. But that doesn't account for perimeter shooting, fastbreak offense and athleticism.
With the 36th pick I select Bob McAdoo who should provide outside shooting and fastbreak scoring, as well as athleticism. I can go small with McAdoo at center, provided that I field enough shooters on the floor.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with McAdoo, at least the Buffalo Braves version who won league MVP, not only was he a great shooter like Dirk Nowitzki with excellent range, he was a superior post player whose athleticism allowed him to penetrate from the top of the key. He was also quick enough to block 3 shots, collect 15 rebounds, and score 30 plus per game as the primary offensive option.
PG Robertson
SG Bryant

PF McAdoo
C Chamberlain

that's a great one, spacing is a rare commodity among the all time great which is why guys like klay, allen, and miller are going earlier than where they rank. You have a lot of scorers on your team, oscar will really have to fully show off his point general skills.

Correct, but Robertson had a type A personality, a domineering one that would hold the other guys accountable, and consistently run the offense. He would make sure Chamberlain and Bryant got their shots, and if they were properly defended, then he would overpower his defender with powerful moves to the basket.
And you're right - the modern game has shifted heavily in favor of shooters whose range stretched the floor, forcing defenses to switch in order to prevent open shots off set picks. :hammerhead:

Thicc post
This is easy. Ill go with '90 Patrick Ewing. Averaged 28/11 55fg% on 4 blks, made All-NBA First team over Hakeem and D-Rob. Defeated Bird-McHale-Parish in the playoffs.
C - '90 Ewing
F - '04 Garnett
F - '13 LeBron
G - '03 McGrady
Was hoping Ewing would be available after Walton got picked, got my wish.
ik this a huge overreach but idc, i'm taking 16 draymond specifically since he could shoot that year. He covers my weaknesses in defense, great shooting for a 4, and another playmaker when we run in transition or to just feed shaq from the perimeter
C- Shaq
F- Draymond
G- Wade
G- West
