4-15 Herro with 29. Way to go Mitchell :facepalm
Mitchell can only carry so much dead weight…

Clarkson does suck. Unfortunately it's Gobert that has to try to carry that POS

How come it isn’t Rudy’s fault when his direct matchup has a ton of points? Why does only Mitchell get held to this standard?

he doesn't. I was replying to Mitchell did all he could do. Pay attention troll. I know we move pretty fast for ya here

Legit has been happening every game too. Snyder turning Whiteside into a stud :biggums: Proof Rudy would be Biyombo without Snyder’s brilliant coaching.

You brought up Herro’s point total earlier when I said Mitchell played great defense. Yet when Jokic scores 50, we can’t say Rudy is to blame at all :biggums:

and yet Snyder has mostly lost without Gobert on the floor. Funny how that works :facepalm
and yet Snyder has mostly lost without Gobert on the floor. Funny how that works :facepalm
True, but obviously Snyder’s system needs a semi-talented, elite shot blocking 7 footer to work properly. This is the first time he’s had one besides Gobert. And his system is working much better with Whiteside so far. Tells us a lot. Gobert was just a Snyder creation, not a real star.

Gobert isn’t a unique player. He built it around an elite shot blocking 7 footer yes. Now he has two of them and Whiteside has been the better one thus far
After averaging +10.7 last season, Conley has dropped to +6.5 while Gobert has slipped from +10.3 last year to just+3.1 this season.
There are two main reasons for these struggles so far, and they don’t fall entirely on either Jazz All-Stars.
First, the team is missing Georges Niang who was a stellar floor spacer last season knocking down 42 percent of his 4.1 three-point attempts. With Rudy Gay still recovering from off-season heel surgery, the Jazz have turned to Eric Paschall who brings added athleticism and on-ball defense but was shooting just 29 percent from the three-point entering Saturday night.
Second, Jordan Clarkson’s struggles have continued despite his breakout performance in Atlanta as the sixth man is still shooting just 22 percent from the three-point line. Clarkson followed up his brilliant performance with a rough seven point performance on 3-9 shooting while failing to grab a rebound or hand out an assist.
Without either Paschall or Clarkson adding any shot creation for the Jazz third unit, the team simply doesn’t have enough offense to extend the advantage gained when Mitchell is on the floor.

To make matters worse against Miami, Joe Ingles also managed just three points on 1-4 shooting as he struggled to find shots against the Heat defense, resulting in just 21 points off the bench on 8-20 shooting.
At the end of the game, Conley had the best plus-minus of the third group at a -3, but Ingles -10,Paschall’s -17, Gobert’s -20, and Clarson’s -27 in a three point game dug the Jazz too deep of a hole to climb out of.

someone gets it. Obviously over a troll's head
Frankly, the case for Gobert is pretty simple: virtually every advanced metric pegs him as the most important player on the Jazz.
He paces the club in Win Shares (WS) in 2021-22 so far at 1.7. He’s atop the Jazz leaderboard in Box Plus/Minus (BPM) at 5.2. He also leads in Value Over Replacement Player (VORP) at 0.5.
In case you think this is an example of small sample theater, the numbers told the same story in 2020-21. His 11.3 WS led the Utah Jazz by a considerable margin. His 4.5 BPM narrowly edged out Mike Conley’s 4.4. Finally, his VORP of 3.6 was (you guessed it) the highest mark on the team.
None of which should be particularly surprising. Gobert’s presence as a rim protector fundamentally alters opposing teams’ strategies in a way that no other skill possessed by any other Jazzman can. The paint becomes a no fly zone when Gobert is in the middle of it. He effectively removes the best shot in basketball from any team’s diet, which frequently leads to more general offensive breakdowns.
On the offensive end, Gobert is obviously not a featured weapon, but his combination of vertical spacing and elite screen setting is still essential to the Jazz’s plan of attack. It’s a little early in the 2021-22 season to factor Offensive Rating prominently into our equation, but it’s worth noting that Gobert actually led all Jazz starters in that category in 2020-21 at 131.

But Whiteside!
It’s a convincing argument, but it’s one that we’ll ultimately reject. Advanced metrics are often designed to measure a player’s impact on their team’s success. Sometimes, they can be noisey, but when they’re all pointing in the same direction, they’re usually worth following.
There are simply too many numbers that tell us Rudy Gobert is the most important player on the Utah Jazz for us to accept otherwis

Can't complain about the attack when the other team scores 118 on your own home.

Utah have been better with Whiteside on the court than Rudy that is a literal fact that you can't dispute
Where does it hurt?

or they've been better without Clarkson on the floor. How you see it would tell us if you're a troll or have a clue
Nothing is ever Toody’s fault according to Xiao. Clarkson is a -4.2 btw that doesn’t explain Toody’s -19.9

Rudy can’t even carry a few role players? Guess he’s not the MVP than. I thought he could carry g leaguers according to you? :lol

Meltdown. He has a great team around him right now. Curry was able to win with Paschall, why can’t Toody even have a decent +/- with him? :confusedshrug: must be because Curry’s a real MVP and Toody’s a defensive role player.

Clarkson, COTY and their other gunner keep them from being great. Paschall was benched on a mediocre GS team. Again you'd know that if you actually paid attention instead of just trolled ****head

Pretty sure “the other gunner” AKA Mitchell isn’t the problem considering he averaged 36.3 PPG on 69.6 TS% and 32.3 PPG on 60.2 TS% in the last two playoffs. He ups his game in the playoffs to an elite level. He’s also a +16.4 this year, obviously not hurting the team like Toody is. You seem very upset. Is Whiteside exposing Toody that painful?

the game is played at both ends. Who cares how many points you score if you're giving it up at the other end. Obviously not playing with Clarkson dumb shit

They had Clarkson last year. It seems that Rudy’s “impact” is being exposed now that Snyder has another elite shotblocking 7 footer, which his system is built around. No doubt Rudy was statistically very impactful last year but they didn’t have a suitable replacement for him. Now with Whiteside, he’s not needed anymore.

Jazz are much better when he plays than when Rudy plays :confusedshrug:
Snyder is obviously great at helping 7 foot shotblockers reach their full potential.

He was playing much harder than Rudy yesterday. Actually gave the Heat some problems down low, because we couldn’t just stick a 6’3 guard on him like we can with Toody. Also did a better job on Bam, who was splashing jumpers in Toody’s face all game.

He probably set no screens. He's not playing harder than Gobert. He is on a minimum contract for a reason. Great talent. Poor effort. Just happy to get a paycheck. You should know that but again you're just a pathetic POS
