The Russians fired 11,000 rockets at Ukraine this past year alone. Ukraine been fighting a defensive war for 3 years now against a much bigger country. Their situation is dire. I doubt Zelensky thinks he can get back Crimea.

Russian forces were supposed to be in Kyiv within 72 hours. 3 years later, they are making little progress relatively, having suffered hundreds of thousands of casualties and enormous material losses against a poorly equipped opponent.
