LeBron needed to win more titles in that Miami period specifically. Only 2 was not enough.

Nah. They would try to downgrade anything he does regardless.
Also, Bill Russell.

If Jordan, Russell, Shaq, Kobe could manage 3 titles in a row, then I think if you really want to claim yourself as GOAT you should have that, or you should more aggregate rings at least (like 7-8). And yeah this same thing is going to apply to this Webamnamya kid, if that's what his goal is, then that's where he needs to go. I don't envy that.
Like you can't just be below in those categories and then just name yourself the best.
2nd best is an incredible achievement too, I don't think it should be belittled as it is, like I said if someone is the 2nd best shooter after Curry, they have nothing to be embarrassed about.
People act like there's some solid rules in place that everyone has to obey when in reality it's much more subjective. I respect your opinion though.

I remember one time a friend of mine said Kobe was his GOAT and I was about to say a bunch of reasons why he wasn't and he just said "I just think how he approached the game was fascinating to me. I'd pay to watch him practise". And you know what ... I couldn't really say anything to that. He's right. There is greatness in that.
And if Jordan and LeBron were in a gym with Kobe, for sure there would be days where he would cook both of them. So would Bird. So would Shaq. So would Wilt probably, so would Hakeem, etc. etc. etc.
There's lots of great players. No one player or two players or three players have a monopoly on greatness in the sport.
GOAT is 50% who actually is the best, and 50% who was your favorite player growing up to some extent.

exactly, I keep telling them this mother-son thing doesn't work, and people won't get over the fact that there's nothing sexual about breast feeding
Although I will say it is a bit surprising to me that kids who were born like post 1995 will still vote Jordan as GOAT, now that's not entirely without merit, it's easy enough these days to go on Youtube and find out a lot about a player and look at the numbers and all that.
The crappy part is we really don't have enough footage of players like Wilt and Bill Russell, especially in their peak/primes. I'd love to be able to watch Wilt in his peak and really get a better idea of how strong/fast/skilled he was.

still though, you'd be far more interested in how he got to be so strong/fast/skilled than what the combination of strong/fast/skilled look like, wouldn't you

Kobe had a legendary work ethic. It amazed me at how LeBron and D-Wade were shocked at how hard he worked. I forgot his personal trainer's name, but he is legendary too. He trained with MJ, Kobe and D-Wade. He said, Kobe worked harder than MJ, but MJ worked smarter. Kobe wanted to know how many hrs did MJ put in, and he wanted to do more than that.
He improved on the smallest things when almost every season. But Kobe problem was that he would break the offense a lot and try to take over and play hero ball. But honestly, I think he would be better now due to all the spacing than back then.
Anyway, I think the goat list should be rated in tiers than an actual 1, 2, 3 list.
Curry has as many titles as Lebron despite playing less years.
he's aight
jourdain was a decent player

Agreed. Kobe's work ethic is insane (literally). I mean I get working hard but you really need to wake up at 4 AM to start training? It's a bit much, lol.
MJ worked hard, but probably smarter than Kobe.
The one thing I didn't quite like about MJ was that he stopped dunking and scoring as much athletically later in his career. I get it, he was 100% against load management and basically played almost every game in a 3 peat, and to do that past age 32/33 would require some changes, but still I wish he still played with a bit more reckless abandon.

Jordaneers are by far the most insecure fanbase in all sports. They should learn the difference between facts and opinions

Kobe didn't win 3 titles in a row, but did win 2 in row with Pau.
