Most fact checks are just "We believe this isnt true cause _" its not an actual fact. Im almost certain its the same case here, cause how tf would reuters know the identity of this individual that looks eerily similar to Crooks?...

Look, here are the facts about the dude: registered republican, described as conservative by those who knew him, donated 15 dollars to the Democrats right around the time Biden was elected. I'm gonna guess he was a "Never Trump" republican based on that. Or he turned on Trump after january 6. I'm not saying dude liked Trump, I'm just saying he wasn't a lib.

Also remember, people become registered for the party of the primary in which they vote in, for that election cycle. He prob just voted in the primary to vote against Trump.

Anyone of those quotes you found that aren't from old high school classmates that sounds more like they knew of him, than actually knew him.
He just graduated from community college earlier this summer, should be a lot more and recent information from there.
I mean it is very much confirmed he was a registered Republican. And he registered at 18, and he was still registered at his death so...

It's been pointed out that there are multiple potential reasons he registered with the Republican party and none of us have enough information right now to state anything clearly. Maybe he's one of those far right(the real far right) people who doesn't think any conservative politcian is racist enough, so he wants chaos and anarchy like yourself.
