I hear ya altho Im not sure how any of yall can tell when exactly the ball leaves his right fingertips. Because I cant.
But look at it this way: You want the refs to let the players decide the outcome with more basketball?
You just got a 2-2 series ;)
Yeah but would have been nice to know if Denver was going to shit the bed or not. Momentum was all Clippers even though the game was tied. This wasn't some tit for tat all game long affair.
It's a 2-2 series which sounds great but one team is on cloud 9 and the other is crushed.
Damn.

Re: (4) Nuggets vs. (5) Clippers First Round Playoff Series Thread
It's not one iffy call on a dunk that decides a 7 game series.
3 games to go.
Re: (4) Nuggets vs. (5) Clippers First Round Playoff Series Thread
Proof was just shown when they went to the halftime show. Pic from above shows it was clearly off of his right hand on time.
Re: (4) Nuggets vs. (5) Clippers First Round Playoff Series Thread
The hand was on the ball but doesn't it just have to be through the hoop? It was through the hoop.
Re: (4) Nuggets vs. (5) Clippers First Round Playoff Series Thread
Looked out of the hands to me when buzzer went off. Barely, but out.
Also - makes up for that terrible offensive foul call on Jokic even if it was wrong.
Re: (4) Nuggets vs. (5) Clippers First Round Playoff Series Thread
Idk usually when the home team comes back from 22 down in the 4th they end up winning that game. Clippers basically threw 2 games in this series and I still think they're going to win in 6/7 games because I don't see how Denver's going to have enough in the tank to do this for 2 more wins. They needed a peak Jokic game + role players going off to barely scrape one out and you have 2 key rotation players who are hurt and a Jamal Murray who's not 100% either, yet I do think we will get a big Jamal Murray game which probably leads us to a Game 7.
AG called that zone defense a gimmick but Denver doesn't have much shooting so it'll be interesting to see how they're going to solve that.
Re: (4) Nuggets vs. (5) Clippers First Round Playoff Series Thread
outside of Jokic they have murray gordon MPJ braun
thats deep enough when you have the only scoring center in the league...
yea deep enough cause they have jokic is not = deep. def not deep. thats a starting lineup lol
Re: (4) Nuggets vs. (5) Clippers First Round Playoff Series Thread
they're borderline equal. MJ is better but the gap is VERY VERY small
MJ better athlete but kobe was special too
did someone take over your acc or smthing its barbershop take after barbershop take :lol:cheers:
Re: (4) Nuggets vs. (5) Clippers First Round Playoff Series Thread
Exactly.
Hate to see a series be swung by that much of an interpretation.
Its an interpretation either way.
Itd be harder/worse for a made basket to not count cause of a minor rule disagreement.
Rules should always be in favor of the offense/scorer, giving the scorer the benefit of the doubt.
This and also if you negate the shot it's a tie game heading to OT. Not as if you just relinquished a win to the Clippers.
Let OT sort it out and IMO get the **** out of here with something THAT damn close.
Thatd be the biggest boner kill ever if they called that off and would have completely killed the Nuggets mentally. Instead you get one of the best moments ever. Unusually good decision by refs.
Doesn't help that the overwhelming majority of the ball is below the cylinder but there is no clear and conclusive gap between the ball and the cylinder (think of a foot behind the 3 point line). Not saying the rules dictate there needs to be one, but it would help.
Who knows. Utterly confusing shitshow that I hate to see turn the tide of this series, that I do know.
Its not a shitshow, its an amazing ****ing way to end a game :lol
But that to negate a commanding 3-1 series lead is very, very poor
i mean it didnt do that.
They have spent 20 minutes trying to work out the ramifications of a useless call but they'll call something like this so hastily...in a series turning decision, lol. IN A TIE GAME BOUND FOR OVERTIME.
This is indeed hilarious. They prob wanted to avoid getting into a super technical discussion that could "expose" them and just decided to say gg :lol
proctor spam reply over
That blurry pic shows the left hand still on the ball when we know it wasn't
no it doesnt show that.
Proof was just shown when they went to the halftime show. Pic from above shows it was clearly off of his right hand on time.
I seriously doubt that. They can just freeze it whenever they want to. He barely had the ball with like 0.2, seems hard for him to have fully left his hand. But again, its prob more so about the cylendar.
Re: (4) Nuggets vs. (5) Clippers First Round Playoff Series Thread
Arby,
When EU gets these games broadcast, do they show the TNT/ESPN/ABC halftime discussion with subtitles, or do various nations have their own countrymen do halftime discussion in their native tongues ?
Because here in the USA, they very clearly showed all the frames in super slow mo frame by frame, and in the final frame prior to the red led Backboard lights coming on, it’s just leaving his hand, and on the next frame with the red LED’s lit up, there is about a 4-5cm space between his fingertips and the ball.

So it most certainly was a good call. No doubt about it. Don’t even need the “tie goes to the runner” type justification. He had inches to spare.

They showed an arial view that wasn't shown on the live broadcast at the beginning of the halftime show. It was 100% not touching his right hand. The angles they did show live clearly shows the left hand was not touching the ball. Did the refs see that view that wasn't shown live... I don't know??

Oh, I had no idea they did. Thought it was more of a superficial screen freeze.
So did they say anything rules wise with the hand on the ball? Relevant or no once its in the cylinder?
As for the broadcast, only an online streaming service has the rights (DAZN), and I think they have their own team.

Its ironcially so close it could still be down to frames per second :lol
again, only if hands on ball are relevant once the ball is through the cylinder.
