Is there a shot with the ball out of his hands with the lights off? We have a shot with the lights on and the ball out, but we need a shot with the lights on and the ball out. Its some nano second shit where the passover from touch to no touch happened.

How stupid are they?

No, dumbshits. This is inconclusive because your cameras suck and aren't capturing at or capable of capturing at high enough of a rate to see the moment the ball actually left his fingers. This isn't 1975 and there is no excuse.

Where is the shot of the ball being out of his hands with the light off?

Why a multi billion dollar company doesn't have specialized cameras for end of game moments specifically such as this is beyond me.

Their footage isn't proof of anything. It's inconclusive.

Did the officials really think that because the first frame they were able to see with the light ON the frame showed the ball was out of his hands that it then meant that the ball definitively left his hand on time? lol holy shit clearly an IQ test is not needed to be an NBA official.

Judging by that and various other angles clip and there wasn't enough evidence for them to overturn the call in my opinion. If they would've called the shot no-good originally, I think the game would've gone to overtime. There simply wasn't enough evidence and it was too close to say it was or wasn't off his fingertips to overturn it.

I agree with you completely. However that's not what I'm even saying. What I'm saying is that the official got on the mic and claimed the ball left his hand on time by looking at this footage, which is impossible to determine. He's an idiot.

There's no judgement call to be made here because it's literally impossible to judge. The proper moment was not captured by their cameras.

The ruling should have been inconclusive evidence therefore not overturned. He's an idiot.

I'm probably misremembering, but has there ever been an instance where the footage was too close to overturn the call and the official gets on the mic and says something to the effect of, "There wasn't enough evidence to overturn the call. Original call stands."

I'm pretty sure there have been numerous instances of calls being inconclusive and I seem to remember this being the case but I can't link you a specific call.

This is the video they were watching as you could see it on the live broadcast on one of their monitors. The one that I linked. This is also what the NBA released.

And what I'm telling you is that their judgement is dogshit and they would score average on an IQ test if they are claiming that they saw the ball leave his fingertips on time.

There is no conclusive evidence. It's black and white that it is inconclusive. There are two frames. One frame with the ball in his hands and the clock still live. One frame with the ball out of his hands with the light on and the clock dead. There were not enough captured frames.

The frame you need is the frame with his hands no longer touching the ball whatsoever and the light still off. That frame doesn't exist because their equipment sucks AND/OR because he didn't get it off on time, which means that video review should be inconclusive.

It looks like his middle finger and index finger are still on the ball.

This is not conclusive.

There is nothing that 100% supports it was a good shot.

It was close enough that the benefit ofthe doubt should have gone to the shooter - as it did. I was rooting for the Clips, but it was the right call.

This is probably the best possible instance caught on record and unfortunately the angle isn't great.

It's such a precise moment that the electrical impulse hasn't fully lit up the backboard light yet, only partially.

Looks pretty sure like it's still on his fingertips but we can't say for 100% certain. Inconclusive.
