With Dante Exum and Rodney Hood, the Utah Jazz had two players on the wing that had the wingspans of forwards, power forwards.
Hood doesn't have great length
The Utah Jazz then moved the offensive hub to Hayward. Shifting another responsibility normally designed for the backcourt to the front court.
and based on what we saw the ball needs to be in Mack and Neto's hands
Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert, both rim protectors in their own right, became the gate keepers to an opposing team.
let's keep saying it even if it's not true
A team that is more apt to throw a shoulder than to throw a 3 pointer.
I'd guess they will throw up more than most teams this year.

I'd probably want him fired for that. Outside Gobert everyone still has a lot to prove including coach
The Jazz acquired Gobert through a draft night trade with the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Erick Green and cash considerations. Erick who?
I liked Green. Think he's in someone's camp
According to Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune, while there is definite excitement revolving around this version of the Utah Jazz, there
But they also have to worry about Rudy Gobert (a restricted free agent in 2017), Derrick Favors (unrestricted in 2018), and Dante Exum and Rodney Hood (both restricted in 2018), along with some other smaller pieces of their future.
Let Exum show something first. Hood will be gone.
Hayward, who probably would already have multiple All-Star appearances under his belt if he didn
The Utah Jazz have signed rookie small forward Quincy Ford, the team formally announced on Wednesday morning. In a deal that comes with a partial guarantee of $75,000, Ford, a 6-foot-8 small forward out of Northeastern, will attend training camp, which starts on September 27th, and is expected to be on the Salt Lake City Stars roster, Utah
Ford is expected to join rookie point guard Marcus Paige with the Stars. The Jazz currently have 14 guaranteed contracts on their roster. The 15th spot is expected to go to center Jeff Withey, who has a contract that will become guaranteed in January.
Wallace and Bolomboy will hopefully be on the Stars as well
doing so on a foot so jacked that he would require post-draft / pre-summer league surgery.
that's a bit worrisome for a big guy. maybe why he wasn't drafted higher?

stronger. really strong? :confusedshrug:
However, with the start of training camp on the horizon, the battle for playing time in the second unit will soon be going in full force. One situation that will be particularly interesting to monitor will be the way in which Jazz coach Quin Snyder handles the reserve wing minutes.
The biggest battle should be for the starting 1 and 2. I sure don't think that is being given to anyone.
When healthy, Alec Burks is without a doubt the best choice as the first shooting guard off the bench. In fact, in his highs, Burks could even challenge Hood for the starting gig. However, during 2015 training camp and the early part of the 2015-16 season, Burks proved to be the most effective fit when coming off the bench in a Sixth Man type role.
I think he could be traded as soon as he shows other teams he's healthy. Hood and Exum should be fighting for the back-up 2 as I see it.
Assuming Burks is playing at a high level, he still deserves
David Locke: Word out of Jazz is Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors notched up the off-season work to brand new level. Trey Lyles not far behind
Postseason Appearance
really going out on a limb there!
Utah's offense was atrocious last season, as it was utterly stagnant due to a lack of playmakers. However, with the addition of Johnson, Diaw, and Hill and the return of Alec Burks and Dante Exum, the Jazz should have better ball movement and players who can create for themselves. Certainly, they won't be ranked third to last in points this upcoming season especially with the roster makeover they had during free agency.
and a full season of Mack!
Two seasons ago, the Jazz were ranked first in opponent points per game. Last season, they dropped to second behind the San Antonio Spurs. Nonetheless, they may be able to return to the top in this particular category because of their lengthy French big man Rudy Gobert. Gobert's intimidating factor has made Utah one of the best defensive teams in the league, and they show it by holding opponents under 100 points most nights.
think they were first with Mack because their offense was better
Rudy Gobert will be eligible for a contract extension this year, and he will most likely receive a massive deal when that time comes. He is the heart and soul of Utah's interior defense and has been significantly improving each year. He is definitely a keeper, and the future of the team. When Gobert does get his extension, he will deserve every penny of it.
I'd guess next summer. Better be 5 year max though!

obviously
In my 20 years as a Utah Jazz fan, the team has only signed away one free agent for double-digit millions per year: Carlos Boozer, in 2004, on a five-year/$60M deal. Laboring in one of the league
