Hayward isn't the most underrated. :facepalm
Alex Kennedy: In addition to working out free agents Jermaine Taylor and Henry Sims today, sources say the Jazz will work out Richard Solomon next week.

so far. signing Favors to an extension would be bigger though
Utah has high hopes for next season, and point guard stood out as both a point of depth and a lack of reliable production. Trey Burke and Raul Neto both have backup point guard as their end point, while Shelvin Mack is a high-usage ball-dominant guard who provides inconsistent defense.
I can see Neto as a starter. Mack too. Had number 1 D with him. Burke is a 3rd pg at best right now though it looks like he might back up Wall
If the team can re-sign Hill to a team-friendly contract, either by an extension or in free agency next summer, then Utah will have 48 minutes of consistent point guard play moving forward.
Let's see if Exum is actually an NBAer first please!
Paige is always going to be an undersized guard too small to guard 2s and too trigger-happy to run an NBA offense. The upside for such a pick is limited.
Has length. Needs to get stronger. He didn't necessarily look trigger happy. Might not matter anyway since they will lose his rights once he's sent to the D-league
If they were to experiment with an Exum-Hill backcourt, it could work.
It could and I imagine that is what they envision eventually but Dante has to show he can play first.

The Utah Jazz are an elite defensive team. They were able to keep their opposition at an average of 95.9 points per game. Second best in the NBA last season. However, their offense was ranked 28th last season. Unfortunately, this is due to too much of the load being on Gordon Hayward.
biggest problem was not having a vet on the team instead of Burke. Once Mack came they were a different team. Neto could have done more too if they'd let him run the offense
The third addition which will help Hayward is Hill, who played with the Indiana Pacers last season. In a position-less NBA, Hill is a combo guard who has made a career out of being what is needed. His eight years experience will help Shelvin Mack.
someone that hasn't written off Mack! :applause:

Getting a better point guard, something Hayward desired, will help Gordon's game a lot. He was required to do a lot, too much, last season.
The Jazz use Hood and Hayward as the primary ball handlers in PnR situations, while their point guards usually spot up off of the ball.
except for Mack
A second round pick five years down the road is not terrific compensation for Burke, but his inability to carve out a concrete role in Utah was frustrating and ultimately forced the front office

or Rudy or both. The Booker/Lyles line-up was terrible last year. So how they do without both starters is something to watch.
Aside from shouldering the major load of the reserve power forward minutes, Lyles will also have to assume some of Trevor Booker
Dante Exum and Alec Burks will be back on the floor after being felled by injuries last season. Derrick Favors is apparently looking to extend his range, potentially out the three-point line.

Like to see Favors hit even a mid range shot again
The Jazz craved Hill's ability to spot up and hit shots. They welcome his ability to stay in front of the many quicksilver point guards in the league. The Jazz front office would love for him to serve as a mentor to Dante Exum, the young point guard who is a year removed from a torn ACL.

have they actually said any of this? I have yet to read this :confusedshrug:
