I don't consider either one fundamentally sound. But if I had to pick one to model my jumper after, it'd probably Kobe since it would work for me. Kobe modeled his after MJ, but he had to tweak it because his hands are small and he can't get nearly as much lift on his jumper.

Come on now, really? Most of his jumpers come off of pullups or fadeaways where he has to shoot over some one. Don't see how he could do that without getting lift.

Look at his younger days when he'd take threes. He'd put his right foot up and almost not jump when he takes his shot. Maybe he just doesn't leave the floor as fast cause of his lack of explosion.

Why would you need to jump high on threes? I don't know of many players if any at all who jump high on long-range shots. It's almost all upper body from out there.

Bird is the example of taking set-shots,i think Kobe get a lot of lift on his jumpers.
