Lakers should trade Howard for Gasol and save money.
Why would the Grizzlies do that ? Not only that Dwight is a baby but he also wouldn't want to re-sign there.
They would basically give Marc for nothing.

Dwight would have a new contract by then and still be the best center in the league. I would love Marc Gasol on the Lakers. He knows his role and doesn't try to force his scoring. Doesn't lose his team games with poor FT shooting. Additionally, he will be cheaper, allowing us to keep Kobe Bryant.
Marc likes Memphis, the franchise and the town. That is why he resigned, he could have waited for better offers.
Would you trade a young and great Center with good chemistry with the team for a man who would proably ask for a trade next year crying he is not happy? I would not.

What tells you that he'll re-sign with the Lakers ?
He doesn't seem to be too happy in LA.

Why would you think that? Dwight smiles during every game he plays as a Laker.

What a wise man the OP was, even back in 2009.
