why are people so mad at this? :oldlol:
it was probably some teenagers who just started watching basketball that voted.

Think about this. People say it doesn't matter anymore where you win, etc.
Take the exact same decade Spurs had...put TD and his teammates on the Knicks instead of Spurs, with Knicks getting the 4 championships.
You think TD's reputation/recognition would be much much higher? Of course it would.........
The market still matters........

Kobe sure loves us though!
[rimshot]
The only thing people should be upset about is LeBron finishing second.
Kobe winning was pretty much a given.
Kobe is the best SG in this decade, but he ain't the best player in this decade. I am a huge LeBron fan, but I don't think he deserved to finished second.

Tim Duncan
2x NBA Finals MVP
2x NBA Regular Season MVP
Shaquille O'Neal
3x NBA Finals MVP
1x NBA Regular Season MVP
You can make a case for all 3.
If this was 1995 to 2005, I'd give it to Shaq no problem.
Shaq was still the best Center in the Association in 2006.
Not even the Inside the NBA guys voted for him either. It might not just be the fan vote.
Amazing to me that so many of you give a gosh darn about this...
White people don't like Kobe.
Most of his fanbase here in Socal are "White", lol. Anyway, Shaq 1, TD 2. Fans continue to be woefully ignorant.
Most boringest player in basketball doesn't deserve that title boss.

From 2000-2010, the two dynasties were LA and San Antonio. Obviously, Duncan was the man on the Spurs. In most peoples mind, Shaq was the man on the Lakers. Kobe had a great run, especially from 2005-2010. However, I don't think that it's enough to bump either he or Duncan. That's just my opinion, though.
   at lebrum lamez finishing 2nd, kobe is my 3rd fav player growing up, but shaq akatha real super man should of got it.

What am I supposed to assume?
You're white, too, there were pics of you posted :banghead:
lol @ the idiots saying it's Shaq. How the **** can you be the player of the DECADE if you weren't even a elite player for half of it? This is easily Duncan or Kobe. No one else has a case.
It's a popularity contest.
I don't even like Tim Duncan, but the guy is the most successful player in this decade.
From 1997-2010 - The Spurs are a Western Conference Powerhouse.
The San Antonio Spurs needs to build a shrine in honor of Tim Duncan.

Okay there buddy. :oldlol:
Not even the Inside the NBA guys voted for him either. It might not just be the fan vote.
EJ did. 8% is just pathetic dude. he finished 4th, not even 2nd or 3rd. lol, these polls are meaningless guys. it's just a popularity contest or who your favorite player is. SA isn't a huge market and many find duncan boring, so that's why it breaks down that way. kobe/lebron came away with like 75% of the vote. i mean, lebron should not even be in the top 4. it's a decade, people!
