Need to mention Nate Thurmond. He held prime Kareem to 22.8 ppg on 23.0 FGA, 42.8%FG, 44.7%TS in their '73 playoff series matchup which his team upset the Bucks in 6 games. Kareem had one of his best regular seasons that year with 30/16/5 on 55FG% but Nate locked him down to probably his worst playoff series ever during his prime.

Nate would be #2 after Russell #1, IMO.

And how about their '72 playoff matchup? Kareem had a season in which he averaged 34.8 ppg on .574 shooting. In the first round against Nate... 22.8 ppg on a ... get this... .405 FG%. Not only that, but Thurmond OUTSCORED Kareem in that series, 25.4 ppg to 22.8 ppg, and outshot him by a .437 to .405 margin.

Damn Kareem has two huge chokes. Wilting come playoff time... And I hear that "he's underrated here" :oldlol: when he is always ranked #2 alltime.

In that same '72 post-season, and against an old Chamberlain, he shot .457 from the field. And in the last four games of that series, three of which were Laker wins, he shot a combined .414.
You want more?
In the first round of the '81 playoffs, his 54-28 Lakers were beaten by Moses' 40-42 Rockets, in a series in which Moses easily outscored him, and held him to a .462 FG% (in a post-season NBA that shot an eFG% of .473.)
Then, two years later, Moses just slaughtered him in a series in which Malone outscored him by a solid margin, and outrebounded him by over 10 per game.
And in the '84 Finals, Kareem shot .481 from the field in a seven game loss, in a post-season NBA that shot an eFG% of .487.

Magic>Kareem? What do you think? I have Magic and Bird ahead of Kareem.
I hate to be brutally honest but any list that does not place Russell #1 should be discarded. From a historical perspective:
1. Bill Russell
2. Anyone else

Wilt, MJ, Russell, and Magic...
What are he results so far OP? You still doing a top 10?
Wilt, MJ, Russell, and Magic...
Minus Wilt I have the top 3 in that order with Kareem 5th.
Kobe, most all all defensive teams of any player. Period.
