Re: MJ's Stats in Each Playoff Series Against Top 5 Ranked Defenses
I think 09 is literally the single year where the East was stronger than the West in the past two decades.

Past two decades? No. The East had a winning record against the West during the Bulls second 3peat

Which SG's would you replace Wade with?
Re: MJ's Stats in Each Playoff Series Against Top 5 Ranked Defenses
The "elite" 1988 Cleveland Cavaliers defense was as good at limiting points allowed on a per possession basis as the 2004 Atlanta Hawks (25th out of 29).

When you say stuff like this you make yourself sound like you've never watched basketball. I'm open to hearing people make arguments, but your understanding of the game seems rather limited.

Obviously weren't old enough to watch Bird if you think that
At worst its a tossup, but I feel that Lebron has the slight edge

Re: MJ's Stats in Each Playoff Series Against Top 5 Ranked Defenses
y'all some sneaky mf's... :coleman:
i needed to use this thread as part of another argument, and the numbers didn't look as good as i needed them to, so i decided to double-check the numbers again...
sure enough, i missed the 1986 Celtics, who had the #1 defense in the league.
and yet no one could point out that i missed Jordan's greatest individual performance against a #1 defense and top 3 all-time team... :biggums:
y'all ****** man.. lebron stans will resort to anything to prop up their man... :facepalm
anyway, i added the 1986 Celtics and their #1 defense to the OP's list, which sealed my argument in another thread.. :pimp:

otoh, lebron imitates kobe much better:
SAS 2007 Finals (22.0.. 7.0.. 6.8.. 42.8% TS.. 35.6% FG)
DAL 2011 Finals (17.8.. 7.2.. 6.8.. 54.1% TS.. 47.8% FG.. and GOAT choke)

Well to adjust for pace add 10 percent to the stats for stars today if comparing to MJ from the 80s

Nice try bud.. League-wide pace today is 93.8... The Bulls pace was equivalent:

1985: 99.4..... 6% higher
1986: 99.7..... 6%
1987: 95.8..... 2%
1988: 95.5..... 2%
1989: 97.0..... 4%
1990: 96.7..... 4%
1991: 95.6..... 2%
1992: 94.4..... 1%
1993: 92.5... (1%) lower
1995: 92.0... (2%)
1996: 91.1... (3%)
1997: 90.0... (4%)
1998: 89.0... (5%)
6% difference in 1985 and 1986, and then after that, it's the same as today, and actually a SLOWER pace from 1993-1998.
As you can see, Jordan showed he can 3-peat with a faster OR slower pace than today's game.
