Russell Brand accused of raping 4 women between 10-17 years ago

The 2 most serious allegations are the presumably 2013 one where a woman said she was raped and went to a rape crisis center in LA. Medical personnel are required by law to report such incidents to police so she obviously didn't name names at the time.

And there's one that is now dated in 2003 where a woman said she was not raped but sexually assaulted. She has now just filed a criminal complaint with the police in the UK.

The biggest red flag is they all came out 15+ years later at the same time. A clear coordinated effort that has to have had been orchestrated. It's purely impossible to not have been and makes me sad for the state of society where a woman's word is worth more than the "innocent until proven guilty" statute our justice system was built off. Which was a farce anyway given how black people were treated but if I keep going this paragraph will never end so I'll just leave it at this. This world is absolutely tremendously unfair and a hellscape compared to what we all await.

Well it's all coming out now because of an aggressive journalist from Times doing a story. They probably started out with the rumor of one victim, then after multiple interviews came across other women who years later felt victimized. It's what good journalists do. I don't blame the journalist. On the contrary, I'm itching to know the details of why a woman went to a rape crisis center but Brand wasn't immediately charged by the police.

Obviously now that it's public every single woman who felt the least bit slighted by Brand, wants the spotlight, now has an avenue of revenge, and/or sees dollar signs is going to come out now while the iron is still hot.

Besides Danny Masterson I can’t think of any celeb who has actually had their life ruined by these accusations so it’s weird to see people shrieking about how Brand is being targeted. Casey Affleck just starred in a huge blockbuster ffs.

Casey Affleck was only accused of sexual harassment and there was no criminal investigation. Like Danny Masterson, Russell Brand has at least one of the women accusing him of outright rape. From what I understand only the NY police are investigating him at the moment for sexual harassment, but the LAPD probably aren't far behind on starting a rape investigation on this.

I still doubt he'll end up anything like Masterson, Affleck was just an example off the top of my head. Jared Leto has definitely been accused of rape and he's doing fine. Marilyn Manson is still touring isn't he

Not really, it's a lethal combination of entitled people who are used to getting anything they want and people seeking out a wealthy target looking for a payday. The fact is people may have their suspicions one way or the other, but barring the results of the investigation, we'll never know for sure what happened, it's purely he said/she said. Having said that, he should be be considered innocent until proven guilty.

He is obviously the type to play fast and loose with women. But that doesn't mean he's guilty, although I wouldn't be surprised if he was. We're never going to know the truth. But they're definitely getting him out of the paint, that's for sure. Shouldn't **** with the machine - governments and corporations.

I feel like some of you don't remember what Russell Brand was like in the 2000s. He was a very reckless individual. That doesn't mean he's guilty but the guy hasn't got the cleanest of track records. Controversial is putting it mildly.

I don't care what comes out of this, I don't care if dude gets locked up or not, hopefully the courts are fair. But I will say that him in his mid 30s having "consensual" sex with a 16 year old is f@#ked up regardless of legality or if it was rape or not.

That basically says to me that he is a pedo and was willing to get as close as he could to a child within the realm of legality.

Yes by a lawyer. One woman comes forward and then the rest say "me too" hence the movement. All of them having at minimum having proof of at least relations with Brand which he doesn't deny. Now within those accusers, could some of them see this as an opportunity to cash in? Absolutely. But is it likely that 100% of them are? Doubt it. Odds are he raped a couple of them.

Yeah even if he’s innocent he’s at the very least suspicious for this. And he would be guilty in America regardless.
