Well, it all depends "which" Nuggets team youre talking about. The best version, aka only the minutes Jokic plays, or the full picture, including the minutes he sits. Because the swing is so drastic it's basically two different teams.

When Jokic is on the floor, the Nuggets are probably the slightly better team in a technical sense. They execute better on offense, and they actually shot a better percentage than the Thunder throughout the season. The Nuggets were the most efficient shooting team in the league. Theyre also not nearly as bad defensively as the regular season numbers suggest. In the half court they made the Clippers and Thunder look pretty ordinary. The games OKC ran up the score was all about turnovers. Doesnt matter how good your defense is if your offense is handing them 1 on 0 fast break buckets.

The Nuggets were sloppy with the ball and guys like MPJ couldnt buy a basket. It was practically 4 on 5. MPJ had a pretty solid regular season so it's not like their standard team performance includes him shooting 0-for-everything. I would say the Nuggets suffered a little bit more of a performance anomaly this series than the Thunder did in terms of shooting and offensive rebounds and the like. And it went 7 games, with OKC having the homecourt advantage. If you simply switch who gets 4 home games it could easily be Denver advancing.

So yeah, overall the Thunder are the better team because the three minutes Jokic sits to start the second quarter usually costs them 7-10 points. If you remove that, and every player on both team gives you what they NORMALLY produce... the Nuggets probably are actually the better team. But they did not have the better series and that's why OKC is moving on.
