Because it was obvious to most people that is what he meant.
< Cleveland fan.
and yet he felt the need to tweet what he actually meant?
that tweet to clear up misconceptions was because somebody got a hold of him and said psssst lebron errr you're sounding like a bit of an ass here and some of the media outlets are running with it...
i understand what he meant and didn't think too much about it but evidently his people and lebron didn't feel it was "obvious" what he was trying to say.
No it was not clear....in fact it was so unclear that LeBron tweeted himself to clear up what he said.

Did a post game interview with Craig Sager and I mentioned "Greatness" and I didn't mean my self individually, I meant to say US as a TEAM working towards "Greatness". Anyways Great Team Win for US tonight!

I don't understand all the negative flack I got for pointing this out.
The LeBron protectors where out in force last night. Or anyone who wanted to make this a Kobe vs. Bron issue. I have no idea why the convo always needs to head in that direction.
    yeh right we all know what this clown meant
I think he said some good things in that interview. Of course it would have been nice if he had apologized to the fans. but probably due to his pride and all the ongoing hating he didn't. At least he pointed out that he didn't want to hurt anybodys feelings. Even if he's narcissistic he damn sure has realized that it's not fun to be hated by so many.. at least he didn't sound all that self-assured anymore in that interview. maybe he has learned his lesson, maybe not... Anyway it was fun watching him play some great basketball last night and that's what matters most to me.
Lebron is better suited to play the role of villain. His game is too ugly for people to just love on its own. But if they watch hoping he fails then it may become more intriguing. At that time it turns into another team trying to overcome his immense talent.

Tin foil hats aside, Lebron isn't the most articulate person. :oldlol:

in the context of the interview, he didn't come off as an assho!e. actually, it sounded like "continue my greatness" just meant "continue to play at a high level." i think that's the intentional meaning of his quote, but he's not a well-versed person. lebron is just a sh!tty speaker. but of course people like to bash him for everything that just doesn't sound too eloquent.
Tin foil hats aside, Lebron isn't the most articulate person. :oldlol:
lol no he is not, that's become painfully clear... he's also not very media savvy. you stir in his self importance and it's a bad mix.. lebron is why there are PR people but his problem is his PR people are every bit as clueless as he is about the finer points
As usual one little comment gets overblown
OMG did Lebron really say ''my greatness'' as if he was a great player???
Thats unacepptable!
You guys just look at anything to hate on the guy even when he speaks the truth
This shit is embarrasing. Just look at the guy who started this thread using word like "WOW", "I'm speechless" about..well, nothing. Your hate is messing up this game.
anyone heard from the three little girls ( indian guy - ginobli - duma )?
He's subtly implying that he made Cleveland great and merely used the franchise as a vehicle to propel to himself to this point in his career where he's prime for championships as part of a team composed of players worthy of Lebron's presence.

No, that's not what he was saying. At all...
I love how people are using multiple accounts to attack me on this thread.

Disagreed.

To tell you the truth he did.
The Cavs became relevant because of him.
Now that he is gone......nothing.
And he threw it all in their faces.
Stay Classy LeBron!
Honestly at this point all this silly Lebron hate comes off as some silly and desperate attempt of haters, who are clinging to any single word he says in his interview and blowing it out in huge proportions...all these insecure Kome and Fakers fans are roaming Lebron and Heat threads, pushing their agenda relentlessly like some bitter ex-girlfriends of James.:lol Lebron >>> Kome - deal with this fact of life you pathetic worms

I take you must not like the two time defending champions and the two time Finals MVP.
Any how stop trying to make this a Kobe vs. LeBron thread.

Kindof sad that he has to mention that, we know what he was referring to actually, but the haters hear what they want to hear and take it into the bad context they want it to be.
