Vujacic and Farmar reunited!!
@LarryCoon One other benefit to Lakers in this trade -- they gain a trade exception for $5,475,113. 7
Not bad :applause:
Not bad :applause:
I wonder if the Lakers will use that exception. They will need more depth at the guard position now. Im sure there are some quality guards out there that can be had and are in the last year of their contracts. Anthony Parker from the Cavs would be IDEAL.
My first thought on that blockbuster?

Why would the Lakers be going after guards when they have guys like Shannon Brown boasting improved perimeter shooting and have big plans for Blake in the playoffs? They sign a guy like Anthony Parker and he'd see no minutes.
this may also be some more aaron brooks insurance for the rockets. brooks is due for a raise and lowrey has been running the team well since aaron has been on the shelf. i won't be surprised to see him traded.
Sasha and farmar reunited.
Which sucks for Avery Johnson, since those two never enjoyed playing with one another.

Right now they have only 4 guards on the roster.
Kobe, Fish, Blake, and Brown. I just feel they are now a little thin there and adding a little more quality depth at that position wouldnt hurt. Parker would be a great fit on the floor and on the books as his deal expires this season. Just thinkin out loud.
I thought this was a peculiar trade too. The Lakers are pretty thin in the back court, and it's not like their guards are 25 year's old. Hopefully they sign or trade for somebody else. Vujacic never lived up to his contract, but at least he worked hard and played well when given the minutes.
I was expecting Brook Lopez.

I just don't think a dude like that would get any minutes, unless they're thinking of sitting guys like Blake who already struggle for scraps from the table in the way of minutes as it is. When the rotation locks up and they're only playing 8-9 guys in the playoffs I can't imagine there would be much in the way of minutes for a guy like Parker coming off the bench. Gotta consider some of these guys need time to acclimate into the triangle. If you have them coming in fresh, especially in the post-season, the prospect for failure is high.
If anything it might be decent injury insurance, but I don't think LAL is too worried about that.

Not too bad since they have Barnes.
the emergence of brown really shut the door on sasha tho IMO
he took away sashas minutes
i do think sasha is a decent player but was clearly overpaid
Damn I don't see Sharapova living in New Jersey

I imagine Shaq saying that!:roll::roll:

right now the lakes have both blake and brown playing near 20 mpg fish at just over 20 mpg and kobe just over 30 mpg and sasha playing nothing... it was a strategic move mostly, get a big body in there for garbage time and gain some flexibility to make a move down the road if needed

Meh, both Blake & Brown are very good back ups & if needed Barnes can play at the guard spot a few min. When healthy this team is very deep.
Now Mitch can concentrate on using that $5 million to bring in a kick-ass player.

jerry buss said, NO NO. he's saving some money on the luxury tax.
And Beyonce.
And Proky's White Russians though he also needs some drinks.
Sorry.. cheesy Kanye reference.
U listen to Nicki Minaj?
Whilst Williams is an ultra talented explosive scorer, he also is an ball hog who dosent like to make that extra pass. I hope he learns to buy into the team game scheme we have right now.
Im not mad at the Lakers at ALL. Sasha literally NEVER GOT ANY MINUTES. Dude was HARDLY on the floor for LA.
So, you save a ton of cash, AND you get alittle big man insurance just in case we need it down the line? Not too shabby at all.
Financial move, Joe Smith is just a bonus insurance big guy. Giving up the 1st rd pick also saves up 1.5 mil that can towards a new Shannon contract too.
now kobe doesnt have somebody to carry his bags for him :oldlol:
or pound his chest before games
I can't stand the fact that Sasha has 2 rings. I dislike him the most of anyone in the NBA...just something about him makes me not want him to be successful, which is pretty uncharacteristic of me towards others.
It's funny/ironic because I love Brian Scalabrine, and despite their somewhat similar roles on their respective teams, I see him completely differently.
The fact he's getting shipped off to the Nets makes me really happy inside for horrible reasons, but happy nonetheless.:D

Sasha got two rings with the Lakeshow...made those two huge free throws in the Finals....what more can he want from the Lakers? Now he gets a chance to get more minutes in New Jersey. He will get a opportunity to play.
Thanks for those free throws Sasha!
Laker fans are going to come in here and state how good Joe Smith is and how he fits perfectly. LMFAO
yea just like the Cavs Fans thought SHAQ and Bronze will bring them a championship
Good Riddance, Sasha

Barnes can play a little bit of SG if needed since they still have Walton/Ebanks
with all this talk about Sasha and Joe Smith people fair to see the genius of Daryl Morey.. watch what Terrance Williams becomes...well worth a lotto protected first lol

what can he do that Marrow can't? lol
he's lucky that AM just got injured lol
Lakers save alot of salary and get a big man vet in return. Granted he isn't very good but still least he is a big. Just helps to add to the bottom of the bench depth.
Good Riddance, Sasha
Dude iced NBA Finals Game 7 vs Celtics no less and hit arguably the biggest and most memorable FTs in recent Lakers history. Nothing can take that away from him.
Hmm, someone on another board posted a conspiracy theory that the Nets owner wants Sharapova at their games :hammerhead:

Guess that means Jermaine Taylor will be waived. Or has he already?
Hmm, someone on another board posted a conspiracy theory that the Nets owner wants Sharapova at their games :hammerhead:
Of course. How is that even a discussion? The Nets traded for Sharapova not for Vujicic. The Nets owner probably inquired what it would cost to have Anna Kournikova
